*Brief Report on AYUSH / Unani day Public Awareness & Medical Aid Camp*
As per the directions and orders issued by the Office of the District AYUSH Officer, Anantnag, an AYUSH / Unani Public Awareness and Medical Aid Camp was successfully organized at *JAMMU AND KASHMIR District Police Lines Anantnag on 11 February 2026, under the overall supervision of the *District AYUSH Officer Dr Javed Ahmad Wani Sahib* and in accordance with departmental guidelines.
The programme was conducted to Celebrate World Unani Day*
which is observed globally on 11 February. Awareness was imparted regarding the Unani System of Medicine, including its history, principles, present role, and information about available AYUSH/Unani healthcare facilities for the general public.
The camp witnessed large participation from the employees of District Police lines Anantnag and general public, mainly local men who actively participated in the awareness sessions and availed medical consultation. A YOGA session was organised by YOGA Instructor Mr Basit. Dr Irfana Bashir gave a lecture on importance of WORLD UNANI DAY.
A Medical Aid OPD was conducted from 10:30 AM onwards, during which a total of *140 patients were examined. All patients were provided free medical consultation and Unani medicines. Simultaneously, awareness was created regarding the preventive and promotive aspects of Unani Medicine and guidance was given about where Unani/AYUSH facilities are available.

The World Unani Day–2026 celebration was organized by the Department of AYUSH, Anantnag, at Town Hall, Anantnag. The event was graced by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Mr. Sandeep Singh Bali, as the Chief Guest. The programme was attended by the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Khalid Parvaiz; Chief Education Officer, Mr. Ali Mohammad Bhat; District Information Officer, Dr. Usman Ahmad; Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mattan; Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pahalgam; Medical Superintendent Bijbehara; and other dignitaries.
District AYUSH Officer Anantnag, Dr. Javeed Ahmad Wani, in his welcome address, shared valuable insights on Unani medicines and highlighted their role in preventive and promotive healthcare. Dr. Sheikh Mohammad, Dr. Saima Mohideen, Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Shan, and Mr. Manzoor Javeed delivered PowerPoint presentations on local herbs and also shared valuable views on the significance of the Unani system of medicine.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Shaheen Ahmad Mir, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the District Administration, esteemed guests, participants, the CEO and Secretary of Town Hall, and the entire organizing committee for their cooperation and support. All employees of the Department of AYUSH, Anantnag, were present on the occasion, and lunch was served to the participants.

As per the directions of the respected District AYUSH Officer, Anantnag, a Unani/AYUSH Public Awareness and Medical Aid Camp was organized at Chek H Tooru on 04 February 2026 as a pre-activity in connection with World Unani Day (11 February). The camp focused on awareness regarding preventive and disease management aspects of Unani medicine, along with free consultation and medicines. A total of 138 beneficiaries were provided services.

The programme was conducted as a *pre-activity in connection with World Unani Day*
which is observed globally on 11 February. Awareness was imparted regarding the Unani System of Medicine, including its history, principles, present role, and information about available AYUSH/Unani healthcare facilities for the general public.
The camp witnessed large participation from the students of school, general public, mainly local men and women, who actively participated in the awareness sessions and availed medical consultation. Students of the host institution also participated. Dr Nazir Ahmad Agoo gave a lecture on importance of WORLD UNANI DAY.
A Medical Aid OPD was conducted from 11:00 AM onwards, during which a total of *140 patients were examined, comprising 75 male and 65 female patients. All patients were provided free medical consultation and Unani medicines. Simultaneously, awareness was created regarding the preventive and promotive aspects of Unani Medicine and guidance was given about where Unani/AYUSH facilities are available.

As per the directions and orders issued by the Office of the District AYUSH Officer, Anantnag, an AYUSH / Unani Public Awareness and Medical Aid Camp was successfully organized at *Rising Institute of Scientific Education, Shangus, Anantnag* on 02 February 2026, under the overall supervision of the *District AYUSH Officer Dr Javed Ahmad Wani Sahib* and in accordance with departmental guidelines.
The programme was conducted as a *pre-activity in connection with World Unani Day*
which is observed globally on 11 February. Awareness was imparted regarding the Unani System of Medicine, including its history, principles, present role, and information about available AYUSH/Unani healthcare facilities for the general public.
The camp witnessed large participation from the general public, mainly local men and women, who actively participated in the awareness sessions and availed medical consultation. Students of the host institution also participated; however, public participation remained predominant, in line with the objective of the programme.
A Medical Aid OPD was conducted from 11:00 AM onwards, during which a total of *137* patients were examined, comprising *54* male and *83* female patients. All patients were provided free medical consultation and Unani medicines. Simultaneously, awareness was created regarding the preventive and promotive aspects of Unani Medicine and guidance was given about where Unani/AYUSH facilities are available.

A free Ayush free medical aid and awareness camp was organised by AAM KANELWAN , AAM KHIRAM AND AAM MARHAMA at Far flung area of KULLAR GOJARAN BASTI tehsil Pahalgam on dated 24/12/2025 , Under the theme Jan Arogya Chetna Abhiyan and the philosophy of LATE FORMER PRIME MINISTER ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE JI that was Swasth Nagrik Sashakt Bharat.In the camp Awareness was given regarding women health, nutrition ,hygiene and necessary precautions to be taken during Winter Season .Also the role of Ayush medicines in prevention of diseases and boosting the immune system was imparted.

*Report of AYUSH Medical aid cm awareness camp*

In compliance with the order issued by the *District AYUSH Officer, Anantnag* vide No. Est/DAO/AYUSH/Ang-2285-87 dated 17.12.2025, and in connection with the Centenary Celebration of the late Prime Minister of India, *Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji* , a Free AYUSH Medical Aid cm Awareness Camp was organized at AYUSH Health and Wellness center YK PORA ANANTNAG today on 23.12.2025

*Objectives of the Camp*

To provide free AYUSH medical consultation and medicines to the general public

To screen patients for non-communicable diseases

To create awareness about disease prevention through AYUSH systems

To promote healthy lifestyle practices including Yoga and home remedies

To educate people about medicinal plants and their therapeutic importance

Key Activities and Highlights

1. *Medical Consultation and Free Medicine Distribution*
Patients attending the camp were examined by AYUSH doctors and provided free AYUSH medicines as per their clinical requirements.

2. *Screening of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)*
Screening for common non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes was carried out, and patients were counseled accordingly.

3 *. Health Awareness Session*
An awareness lecture on prevention of various diseases through AYUSH practices was delivered by Dr. Shaheen Ahmad Mir, highlighting the role of lifestyle modification, diet, and traditional systems of medicine in maintaining health.

4. Awareness on Home Remedies and Yoga
**Dr. Zahor Ahmad Banday and Dr Khurshid *Ahmad Mir* emphasized the importance of simple home remedies and regular Yoga practices in preventing common ailments and improving overall well-being.

5. *Live Yoga Session*
A live Yoga session was conducted during the camp to demonstrate basic Yoga asanas and breathing exercises beneficial for physical and mental health.

6. *Demonstration of Medicinal Plants*
Medicinal plants were demonstrated, and their therapeutic uses and importance in AYUSH systems were explained to the participants, generating keen interest among the public.

Public Response

The camp witnessed encouraging participation from the local population. The beneficiaries appreciated the initiative and showed active involvement in the awareness sessions and Yoga demonstration.

Conclusion

Today, on 21-12-2025, the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme was successfully conducted by the Department of AYUSH, Anantnag, in close coordination with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Anantnag. The programme was implemented in a smooth and well-organized manner with the active participation of medical and paramedical staff, ensuring wide coverage and effective administration of the vaccine. Medical Officer AYUSH, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Ganie, supervised the programme and visited the Polio Vaccination Centre to monitor and assess the implementation on the ground. This coordinated effort significantly contributed to safeguarding children against polio and strengthening public health initiatives in the district.

A two-day training programme was successfully organized by Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH, Anantnag, with the aim of enhancing the knowledge and capacity of AYUSH Medical Officers on various National Health Programmes.
The training programme was chaired by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Anantnag, Dr. Khalid Parvaiz, and Dr. Fozia Nazir, Head of the Department, Community Medicine, Government Medical College, Anantnag. The programme was also attended by the District AYUSH Officer, Anantnag, Dr. Javeed Ahmad Wani, along with other senior faculty members and officials of Government Medical College, Anantnag.
The programme was conducted at the Post Graduate Department of Community Medicine Training Hall, Government Medical College, Anantnag. The training sessions were conducted by Dr. Roaf Hassan Rather, Assistant Professor, Social and Preventive Medicine, Dr. Tajali Nazir Shora, Assistant Professor, Social and Preventive Medicine, and Dr. Ifra Naqashbandi, Assistant Professor, Social and Preventive Medicine, who acted as the resource persons for the programme.
During the training programme, detailed technical sessions and interactive discussions were held focusing on the objectives, guidelines, and implementation strategies of various National Health Programmes. Special emphasis was laid on preventive healthcare, disease surveillance, early diagnosis, community outreach, and the role of AYUSH systems in strengthening public health services through interdepartmental coordination.
All Medical Officers of AYUSH, Anantnag, actively participated in the training programme. The participants appreciated the informative sessions and the collaborative efforts of Government Medical College, Anantnag, and the Department of AYUSH, Anantnag. The programme concluded with a feedback and interaction session, reaffirming the commitment of all stakeholders towards effective implementation of National Health Programmes in the district.
