Newsletters - are they Outdated??
Newsletters have always been a very important communication tool for companies and communities. They provide updates on people, initiatives and events as well as other relevant details about the company or community thus engaging the audience and keeping them informed.
The communication fosters a sense of community and belonging. It helps build trust and transparency within an organization, providing a platform for employees / members to stay informed about the company / community.
This communication is required, relevant and important even today. But the mode of publishing has undergone a sea change. People expect to be informed immediately about any happenings. Electronic communication such as group messages, emails etc are the easiest way to achieve this. However, it is also true that people do not store these messages, mainly due to the bulk.
The only communication tool that provides consolidated information is a newsletter. It is packed with information, that is accessible easily if published in the right format. Also, when it is published at regular frequency, the audience can see and feel the evolution and time travel of the organisation / community.
Have a look at over ten issues of the Mandayam newsletter, which we have created for a niche community, since October 2018. https://avyaang.com/publications/
However, this newsletter has been in existence since the 1920s. Check this link to see the evolution of the newsletter and for a more extensive time travel of this small community.
