The Bangalore city is now well known for the rapid strides it has made in the past few years in adoption and promotion of the game of golf by a number of renowned individuals and institutions. The city is blessed with a number of world class golf courses within a radius of 20 kms like KGA, BGC, Clover Greens, Eagleton, GolfShire, etc., besides a number of other picturesque courses in proximity towns such as Kolar, Mysore, Chikmagalur, Coorg etc. The city & state can proudly boast of producing immensely talented young players like Anirban Lahiri, Chikkarangappa, Manav Jaini, Sharmila Nicollett among others who have started making a mark in the international arena as well. This has drawn a number of other professionals to the game given the infrastructure, training, facilities available and fantastic weather conditions in Bangalore. A group of like-minded individuals, who are all die hard addicts of the game, have decided to come together to form the BANGGOLFERS FOUNDATION, with a view to :
1) Creating a passionate golfing community of distinguished individuals, professionals from varied backgrounds with similar interests to come together and share a common platform
2) Providing networking opportunity on and off the golf courses, play the game in different venues, formats, promote friendly yet competitive spirit
3) Creating a bonding among the members of the group and their families
4) Have lots of fun yet at the same time contribute something back to the game and the community at large, this is the essence of forming BangGolfers Foundation.
5) The foundation under its umbrella will have a not-for-profit BangGolfers Trust specifically created to promote various social causes towards well-being of all strata of society involved with the game and golf courses, for example:
(a) Provide Medical Insurance cover for the Caddies, Maintenance staff of golf courses etc., who typically come from low income groups and do not have any such cover to take care of medical exigencies
(b) Support education expenses for children of Caddies, Maintenance staff who are in need and cannot afford the basic fees and expenses
(c) Insurance, other possible support for caddies’ families in the event of death or permanent debilitating injuries due to an accident
Etc…etc….
6) The foundation’s long term vision is to help overall promote and popularize the game so that the city and country can produce more Lahiris and Nicolletts in the future. This may include but not limited to:
(a) Establishing affordable training programs for young and old alike
(b) Establishing cost effective, proximity driving ranges that can be used by public at large
(c) Nurturing and supporting talented individuals

The promoters are golf loving individuals with similar thoughts and interests as mentioned above, all residing in Bangalore, coming from varied professions and background. None of them have any other monetary interests in coming together to form Banggolfers Foundation, it is entirely on voluntary basis. Agastya J

Operations :
The founding team will decide on the modalities of the functioning, induction of new members, other administrative matters etc., as required. The group will also decide on the communication, branding in social, other media, once the foundation is established. BangGolfers has already created a shared group to start with in Facebook, Whatsapp etc., and invited friends to come on board; these will be reviewed and harmonized with the foundation going forward.
