Just back from Coimbatore after an incredible GSOC Operative Course in Orbital & Periorbital Trauma, hosted by Ganga Hospital & Sankara Eye Hospital.

This unique interdisciplinary course brought together oculoplastic, maxillofacial, and plastic surgeons for three action packed days.

Day 1 was dedicated to cadaver dissections, followed by two action-filled days of live surgeries — 15 complex cases across 4 OTs, backed by world-class AV arrangements. Honestly, it felt like being part of an IPL match broadcast! I performed 4 live surgeries which, after the initial nerves, went off really well.

The highlight, though, was the audience — engaged, curious, and asking sharp, thoughtful questions. Truly one of the best meetings I’ve been part of: equal parts learning, teaching, and sharing!

Feeling truly honored to be invited faculty at next week’s Operative Course in Peri-Orbital Trauma & Reconstruction! Even more excited to share the platform with some of the biggest names in facial reconstructive surgery from around the world. Organized by the world-renowned Ganga Hospital and Sankara Eye Hospital in Coimbatore, India.

What makes this course special is its hands-on approach:
🔹 A full day of cadaver dissections
🔹 Two days of near-live surgeries
🔹 Less theory, more real-world case discussions

👉 Only a few slots remain! Calling on my friends in Oculoplastics, Maxillofacial Surgery, and Plastic Surgery—don’t miss the chance to be part of this course.

Looking forward to contribute, learn, and exchange ideas with colleagues passionate about advancing facial trauma care.

Capture the white line! Bbmm

Sometimes patients push you to broaden your horizons. This beautiful lady wanted her left upper eyelid drooping or ptosis to be corrected without an external incision. There has been a technique called “white line advancement” popularised by Dr. Raman Malhotra of the UK where ptosis can be corrected from the under side of the eyelid (the wet side).

This patient was the first patient I corrected the ptosis through this method after great guidance from white line expert .drvanessa . The outcomes over the last few years have been gratifying and there’s been no looking back. This has better outcomes than the skin incision techniques in some situations. If you or someone else has ptosis that needs to be corrected, book your consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon soon.

Honoured and Privileged to be part of the annual skull base cadaver course as part of the WSBF Fellowship Diploma workshop.

It was exciting to speak and demonstrate Orbital Anatomy and orbital approach to skull base to a room filled with ENT and Neurosurgeons. Kudos to Dr. for keeping an entire day of the 10 day course for Orbital Cadaver dissection.

This is the third year in a row that I’m part of the course which has only got better with every passing year. Of course the fantastic wet cadaver facility at MS Ramaiah makes it one of the most sought after cadaver courses in the world.

Extremely privileged to be part of The WSBF Diploma course last month. This Skull Base Cadaver dissection course was a 11 day course where 1 full day was dedicated for orbital approaches to skull base.

We demonstrated how we could give great access to the anterior and lateral skull base via the orbit- what has been termed as “Trans-Orbital Neuro-Endoscopic Surgery”. Along with Dr. Gaurav Medikeri ( ) - my partner in crime, we shared our experience with TONES over the last 3 years along with the dissection on the fresh wet cadaver.

Would like to thank who invited me as faculty for this superlative course. WSBF stands for World Skull Base Foundation helmed by Dr. Sampath Chandra Rao
