Lord Shiva

God shiva in formless form(SUPREME SOUL )

"In Me the universe had its origin,
In Me alone the whole subsists;
In Me it is lost—Shiva,
The Timeless, it is I Myself,
Sivoham! Sivoham!"

Salutations to Lord Shiva, the vanquisher of Cupid, the bestower of eternal bliss andimmortality, the protector of all beings, destroyer of sins, the Lord of the gods,Lord Siva is the pure, changeless, attributeless, all-pervading transcendental consciousness. He is timeless, spaceless, birthless, deathless, decayless. He is the Impersonal Absolute Brahman. He is untouched by pleasure and pain, good and evil. He cannot be seen by the eyes but He can be realised within the heart through devotion and meditation. Siva is also the Supreme personal God when He is identified with His power. He is then omnipotent, omniscient active God. He dances in supreme joy and creates, sustains and destroys with the rhythm of His dancing movements. The Jivas and the world originate from Him, exist in Him, are sustained and rejected by Him and are ultimately merged in Him. He is the support, source and substratum of the whole world. He is an embodiment of Truth, Beauty, Goodness and Bliss. He is the God of gods, Deva-Deva. He is the GreatDeity—Mahadeva. He is the God ofmanes (Prajapati). He is the most awe-inspiring and terrifying deity, Rudra, with Trisul or trident in His hand. He is the most easily pleased (Asutosha). He is accessible to all. The most auspicious and useful work beneficial to mankind ever carried out by Lord Siva, is to impart the knowledge of Yoga, Bhakti, Jnana, etc., to the world. He blesses those deserve His grace and who cannot get out of Samsara without His grace. He is not only the World-Teacher but also an ideal example to the Jivanmukta or sage. He teaches by His very actions in His daily Lord Siva is the God of love. His grace is infinite. He is the saviour and Guru. He is engaged in freeing the souls from the thraldom of matter. He assumes the form of a Guru out of the intense love for mankind. He wishes that all should know Him and attain the blissful Siva-Pada. He watches the activities of the individual souls and helps them in their onward march. Siva Jyoti:
Brahma and Vishnu were one day disputing which of the two was the greater. Siva appeared in the form of an Infinite Jyoti or fiery Linga, in order to destroy their pride. Brahma and Vishnu set out to measure the Jyoti. They failed in their attempts

SUPREME SOUL:
In this world, many beliefs exist about God. As a result, people understand God in their own way and often in their own imagination. But what is required is the understanding God as He is, what He is and how He is. The correct understanding about God has to be given by God Himself! There are some who don’t believe in the existence of God, often the reason being His existence cannot be proved like that of human beings. But because we cannot see God with the gross eyes, it doesn’t mean that God doesn’t exist. Just like wind, which cannot be seen but can be very much felt, it is possible to experience God’s presence through Godly knowledge and meditation. Who is God and what is His form and name? We shall now try to understand who God or the Supreme Soul is. The term ‘Supreme Soul’ means He is supreme among all souls. It implies that, He is also ‘a soul’, though He is the Highest of all. He is above birth and death. God is the Supreme Father-Mother, Supreme teacher and Supreme Preceptor to all the human beings and He himself has no father-mother, teacher and preceptor. God is a subtle, infinitesimal point of Light. He is not visible to the naked eye but it is very much possible to experience His presence and proximity in meditation. He is incorporeal in the sense that he does not have a body of his own. He is not a human being nor does He have a human form. He is immune to pleasure and pain unlike human beings. Names are a means of identification of human beings after they are born. They do not speak of qualities and actions of the person; they are simply proper nouns and are not attributive names. But the name of the supreme soul or God is based on His qualities and actions. His self-revealed name is ‘Shiva’. ‘Shiva’ means doer of good or benefactor. God does good to all and therefore He is called Shiva. All souls ask for salvation and beatitude i.e. peace and happiness from Him. People remember Him by many other expressive names. shiva being worshipped as linga(Linga murthy, God shiva in formless form) means the consciousness in it's primordial form, where consciousness is entering in to the eternal energy i.e shakti thus shiva linga is the state of god, just before the manifestation of the universe lord shiva is worshipped as linga because that the highest of all manifested gods, formless attribute less.

🕉️Murudeshwar Shiva Temple 🚩
WHY TO VISIT TEMPLES ???
MUST READ AND SHARE.

Scientific Reason :

There are thousands of temples all over India in different size, shape and locations but not all of them are considered to be built the Vedic way. Generally, a temple should be located at a place where earth's magnetic wave path passes through densely. It can be in the outskirts of a town/village or city, or in middle of the dwelling place, or on a hilltop. The essence of visiting a temple is discussed here.

Now, these temples are located strategically at a place where the positive energy is abundantly available from the magnetic and electric wave distributions of north/south pole thrust. The main idol is placed in the core center of the temple, known as "*Garbhagriha*" or *Moolasthanam*. In fact, the temple structure is built after the idol has been placed. This *Moolasthanam* is where earth’s magnetic waves are found to be maximum. We know that there are some copper plates, inscribed with Vedic scripts, buried beneath the Main Idol. What are they really? No, they are not God’s / priests’ flash cards when they forget the *shlokas*. The copper plate absorbs earth’s magnetic waves and radiates it to the surroundings. Thus a person regularly visiting a temple and walking clockwise around the Main Idol receives the beamed magnetic waves and his body absorbs it. This is a very slow process and a regular visit will let him absorb more of this positive energy. Scientifically, it is the positive energy that we all require to have a healthy life.

Further, the Sanctum is closed on three sides. This increases the effect of all energies. The lamp that is lit radiates heat energy and also provides light inside the sanctum to the priests or *poojaris* performing the pooja. The ringing of the bells and the chanting of prayers takes a worshipper into trance, thus not letting his mind waver.

How to make a bond with shiva ?
Fire dznt have to try hard to be bonded with heat nor water has to put in effort to quench thirst........your soul, heart and body are anyways bonded with Shiva, you need not put in effort to bond with him. All you have to do is realize the bond.

Take example of a man who has no clue about "gravitational force". Irrespective of his knowledge about the existence of gravitational force, the force acts a upon him. Similarly, without your knowing........your bond with Shiva has always existed, it exists and will always exist.

YOU and SHIVA are inseparable just as Fire and heat, Ice and coldness, Water and purity, Soul and divinity.

However, to realize him you need to be one with his creation. You need to understand that you are not different from a tree, an ant, a dog, another human. You have to see Shiva in all of them. Once you start seeing Shiva in every spec of creation....you will realize that there is nothing else that exists besides SHIVA.

As Adi shankracharya says "Chidanand roopaha Shivoham Shivoham" (My real self is Shiva, who is Sat(ultimate truth), Chitt( pure consciousness), ananda (eternal delight).

is often depicted with a 3rd eye and called , etc. The third eye is a symbol for Shiva devotees to develop the sight of knowledge. Our 2 eyes are not always sufficient to judge things & know realities.

Shiva’s third eye represents the rejection of desire. It is the eye that killed K**a as per Maha Shivapurana. Killing of passions and desires is not only important for a sadhak, yogi and sanyaasi but is also important for a normal man stuck up in his day to day activities. Even a normal man must have Samta(balance), Sadhuta(purity of character) & doordarsh*ta(broader vision) He must not fall pray to desires arising out of women(other than wife), money(other than that which is earned by sweat and purity), fame(other than that which arises out of sattvic actions.

From point of view, it is said that when the pineal gland or 'third eye' is awakened, one is able to see beyond space time into time space. It raises the frequency on which 1 operates and moves one into a higher . with more research it is being realized that it is essentially a spiritual antenna the mystical third eye of ‘lord Shiva’. For many eons, the third eye has been seen as a way to reach higher levels of consciousness while still being present in a physical body. This concept of the pineal gland being the “seat of the soul” or the “spiritual gateway to all realms and all dimensions” This notion of the third eye is scientific fact. The purpose of this third eye is the key here, which opens the door to the metaphysical interpretations that ancient wisdom talks about. The pineal gland is also responsible for secreting 2 extremely vital brain fluids related to our mental health. Those are, melatonin, which is the hormone that induces sleep, and serotonin, which is the chemical that helps to maintain a happy, healthy balanced mental state of mind, among other functions

By activating the pineal gland one can have live body experience into the universe as explained by our .

connects a devotee with the Supreme Being: Lord Shiva.

The lingam is the symbol of & the lingam puja helps the devotee in understanding Lord Shiva. The Lord cannot be described but still we say he is without a beginning & an end & is without a form. It is difficult for a devotee to understand this formless nature. Therefore Lord Shiva appeared in the form of Jyotirlinga before Brahma & Vishnu. The thus is a symbol of Lord Shiva. Each Lingam puja, step by step, takes the devotee to the eternal truth – that he/she is part of the Being

SHIVLING :
Before starting the Puja, the devotee takes a bath & wear freshly washed clothes. Hymns praising Lord Shiva or the mantra ‘ॐ नमः शिवाय‘ are repeated to create a mood for worship. Then, the devotee sits in front of the lingam & blows conch/ ring bells. This indicates the beginning of the Puja

1st is the panchamrit abhishek– the libation of 5 holy liquids over the lingam. The libation can consist of any 5 of the following- water from river Ganga, honey, sugarcane juice, milk, yogurt, ghee, seawater, coconut water or milk, fragrant oils, rose water or other precious liquids. Usually, only milk of cow is used. While pouring the liquid, OM NAMAH SHIVAYA is told. Some devotees repeat the Lord’s name (this mantra) 108 times & some 1008 times(There is no fixed rule)

After the panchamrit abhishek, the lingam is cleaned with water from (This is might not be possible always so just normal water) After this the lingam is smeared with sandalwood paste & is decked with flowers. Water & sandalwood paste is used to keep the lingam cool, as Lord Shiva is always in a highly inflammable state. In some Shiva temples, cooling liquid constantly drops from pot hung above the Lingam.

Next, sweets, coconut & fruits are offered to the Lord. Camphor & incense are lit & ‘arati’ is conducted. Some devotees fan the lingam & sing praises of the . Finally, ringing of bells/blowing of conch indicates the end of Puja. White ash(vibhuti) is rubbed on the forehead & it is also distributed. Fruits, sweets & coconut are distributed as 'Prasad'

The essential elements of mata sati story and character are as follows:

Sati is Dakshayani, daughter of Daksha, the mind-born son of . Her mother is Prasuti.

She is an incarnation of the Prakriti principle of Godhead, and is the counterpart and consort of Shiva, who is the incarnation of the Purusha principle of Godhead.

Daksha is at odds with Shiva, and conducts a sacrifice in which he wilfully omits to invite Shiva and Sati.

She immolates herself when Daksha remains adamant in his refusal to exclude Shiva.

Shiva is plunged into severe grief at his wife's passing, and destroys the sacrifice.

Shiva's grief also serves as an origin story for a set of holy places known as Peethas.

Sati reincarnates as , born to Himavat and Mena, and marries Shiva, this time permanently.
