Sometimes after meditation one feels repulsed, agitated, and angry. We meditate for obtaining peace of mind or ultimate state of bliss. I don’t know then, sometimes, why we feel anger, repulsion, and agitation?
Answer
Meditation is the process in which you connect yourself with your inner self dissociating with the outer world. We are so busy in our life exploring the external world that we have no time to look inside and discover our true self. We particularly avoid the negatives thoughts and feelings to come to the surface as they cause us much pain and anguish.
When we meditate, we connect with the inner self and the initial thoughts that comes from inside are those which we had been neglecting for years. When these thoughts come to the surface, we feel repulsed, agitated and angry. This is precisely the purpose of meditation. When we wish to clean our house, we have to take the dirt and filth outside. You had been keeping them under the carpet so that they are not visible to us and others. But gradually they start stinking and the whole house is filled with their foul smell. Then you try to suppress the bad smell by putting some beautiful perfume of goodness and positive thoughts. But that can’t suppress the bad smell for long. In fact it creates a strange smell which is confusing because it is pleasant as well as foul. Every good perfuse is effective for small time and then its effect is vanished and we are again faced with the foul smell.
Therefore, I advise you to keep on meditating and suffer the repulsion, agitation and anger because once you get rid of them, you shall automatically be filled with compassion love and peace.
