Automatic and Manual Transmission Gears :
Manual Transmission
These tips focus on clutch control and smooth gear changes:

Release the clutch slowly: When starting the car, ease off the clutch pedal gently for a smooth start rather than a jerky one.

Don't ride the clutch: Avoid resting your foot on the clutch pedal while driving. Doing so causes unnecessary friction and wears out the clutch prematurely.

Don't force the lever: Move the gear stick smoothly between gears without using excessive force.

Use the handbrake on hills: When stopped on an incline, engage the handbrake to prevent the car from rolling backward before you start moving again.

Downshift quickly: When you need to slow down or get more power (like going up a hill), shift to a lower gear promptly to adapt your speed.

Automatic Transmission
These tips focus on protecting the transmission and proper pedal use:

Press the brake first: You must always press down on the brake pedal before you can shift the car out of the "P" (Park) position.

Know your basic gears: The infographic highlights "P" for Park (used when leaving the car) and "N" for Neutral (where the engine is disconnected from the wheels).

Avoid fast shifts between Drive and Reverse: Always come to a complete stop before shifting from "D" (Drive) to "R" (Reverse), or vice versa. Doing it while moving damages the transmission.

Don't press the brake and gas together: Pressing both pedals at the same time puts immense stress on the engine and brakes, causing damage to the car's internal components.

P (Park): Locks the transmission output shaft, preventing the wheels from turning. Use only when the vehicle is completely stopped.

R (Reverse): Engages the gear set for backward movement. Ensure the vehicle is stationary before shifting into this mode.

N (Neutral): Disconnects the engine from the wheels, allowing the car to roll freely. Use for towing or if the engine stalls while moving.

D (Drive): The primary mode for forward travel where the transmission automatically cycles through all available gear ratios.

D3 (Third Gear): Limits the transmission to the first three gears. Useful for engine braking on mild descents or maintaining power in stop-and-go traffic.

D2 (Second Gear): Restricts the car to first and second gears. Best for slippery surfaces (like mud or ice) or moderate uphill climbs.

D1/L (First Gear): Locks the transmission in the lowest gear. Use for maximum torque on steep inclines or heavy engine braking on steep descents, 🥰🥰
