There was an idea I presented in a 2013 Mahindra and Mahindra Town Hall meeting with Anand Mahindra, when I was working with TechMahindra, Pune. And 11 years later, I am conducting Forest Bathing and healing sessions, Kundalini Yoga and Meditation sessions while building a community of kindred spirits who come and live at to enjy nature.
Reading this note from 2013, I understand the learning binge I have been on since I left TechM in 2017, was my subconscious leading me to my dream, with goals larger than those that serve my personal needs!
1. Miyawaki forest building with Manvendra in 2024
2. Nature Guide by a veteran corbett nature guide a trainer with Govt. of Uttarakhand 2023
3. Aboriginal Worldviews and Education University of Toronto (viaCoursera)2020
4. Natural building with Shagun Singh of in 2020
5. Science of Well-Being Yale University (via Coursera) 2020
6.Ground water Governance from Dr. Himanshu Kulkarni of in 2019
7.Permaculture with 2018
and many more....
And last but not the least my 1992 MSc. Geology skills were put to use years later in 2021 during the Uttarakhand floods.
I loved TechM and loved my friends at work and still love my family, friends and Pune....yet, I moved to Bhimtal ...happenstance? I think not...
Partners, Individuals, anyone or all of us can take this forward. Just let's vow to keep the trees, forests, water bodies intact , clean and holy. Please treat them like the GOD's they are while we create "right livelihood" for the indegenous people and ourselves.
Excerpt from that note...
"SHARED VALUES THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Of late we are seeing increasing conflicts about land use and exploitation between the irresistible force of urbanisation and industrialisation on one hand, and the immovable object of protection and preservation of bio-diversity and environment on the other.
Is there a way to look at improving the social and economic condition of forest societies in a way that still allows for exploiting business opportunities?
........
Forest Walks (Enjoy India’s bio-diversity and commune with nature in her backyard)
Wildlife Watch (Be a part of the silent forest and watch natural life in action)
Live with Nature (Stay as our forebearers did and become one with nature)
The initiative will be targeted at the young families – with the objective of sensitising India’s GenNext to the need for and benefits of bio-diversity and eco-sustainability.
SUSTAINABLE URBANIZATION THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Urbanisation is inevitable in India and will obviously put great pressure on essentials such as water and energy. Can we, through one or more of our businesses, create sustainable solution “test beds” ......
...homestays that utilise water harvesting and conservation measures as well as alternative energy (human and bio-wastes as well as solar) for most of it’s requirements?.....
