On 6th April, Dr. Ramya S Moorthy of Nimaya Innovations met with Ms. Sarah Kirlew, the Australian Consul – General to South India , Mr. Michael Costa, Australian Deputy Consul – General to South India, Ms. Janaki Sreeram, Education Outreach Officer at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms. Petula Thomas, the CEO of Indo -  Australian Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Abdul Ekram, Trade & Investment Commissioner, South Asia at the Australian Consulate in Chennai.

They discussed about the significance of Nimaya's work in India with respect to helping children with special needs, and Dr. Ramya conducted a short demo of her devices. The Consul - General was very interested in discerning the potential of Nimaya's devices to help children in Australia, as part of the Indo-Australian tech initiatives.

📢In recognition of April being Autism Awareness Month, Dr. Ramya S Moorthy of Nimaya Innovations conducted a workshop on GITA (Growth & Intelligence Tracking Application) for the staff of various departments at NIEPMD.

👉🏽What is GITA?

GITA is a mobile application that helps monitor the mental growth of babies since the time of birth up till the formative age of 5 years.

It is simple to use, and allows mothers/caregivers and healthcare workers to conduct simple tests derived from well-proven native Indian techniques to assess the child’s progress and log them in the cloud-based app.

👉🏽How does it help users?

The application triggers alerts to mothers and caregivers to consult with experts in case the child’s progress deviates from the standard tests.

In accordance with the Autism awareness month, Nimaya has launched the “Suprayoga” Training at NIEPMD (National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities) to train all their children with Autism and other multiple disabilities.
Suprayoga training is methodology to train using Robotics based devices (NRTS), in their daily life skills making them more independent. NIEPMD with the vision of using future and advanced technologies had signed an MoU with Nimaya Innovations for the training. As the first step to helping the children, NIEPMD’s occupational therapists and special educators were trained on 4.4.2022. Following which the training program for the children has begun!
