The founder of the CL Baid Metha College of Pharmacy, late Dr CL Metha, was a philanthropic visionary, who provided yeoman service to the pharmaceutical profession. Currently the college is managed by the trustees of the C.L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy). Sishya is a well known school in Adyar. Founded by the late Mr. KIT Thomas, and run by the KIT Thomas Educational Society, Sishya has been in existence since 1972 and has made a name for itself in Chennai.(http://www.sishya.com). Unfortunately Sishya has been unable to meet the demand for seats in its Adyar campus, disappointing many hopeful parents. Now the CL Metha Educational Trust has joined hands with Sishya to start a new school, to meet this need. The CL Metha Educational trust has contributed the land, necessary buildings and infrastructure and the Kit Thomas Educational Society will provide the academic know how and advise the C.L. Metha Educational trust on the running and management of the school. The ultimate goal is to duplicate the environment, ethos and academic success of Sishya, Adyar in the new campus. The new school, The Dr. CL Metha-Sishya OMR School has commenced on the land available at the rear of the CL Baid Metha College of Pharmacy. Classes LKG to 5 opened on June 7th 2010, with about 280 children. There is an Administrative block, primary school and Middle school buildings. A senior School building is in the process of being readied.
