On 20th May 2025, in the University Clinic Library, The VIII International Scientific-Practical Conference “Pharmacology of Different Countries💊💉🌍” concluded today with resounding success, marking a significant milestone in the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Kursk State Medical University (KSMU), the Day of the Pharmaceutical Worker, the Decade of Science & Technology. The symposium, titled “Current Issues and Advancements in Pharmacology,” brought together 19 distinguished speakers who showcased cutting-edge research and clinical innovations across a diverse range of pharmacological topics:
✅Cardiovascular Pharmacology:🫀 Discussions on SGLT2 Inhibitors in Heart Failure highlighted their expanding role beyond diabetes management.
✅Pediatric and Geriatric Care:🚶♂️👵 Evidence-based approaches to Pediatric Dosages & the safe use of Diazepam in Elderly Patients addressed critical gaps in special populations.
✅Genomic Medicine:🧬 Breakthroughs in Gene Editing for Sickle Cell Disease demonstrated the transformative potential of CRISPR-based therapies.
✅Neurological & Endocrine Therapeutics:🧠 Insights into Hypertension Management in Stroke Patients & advancements in Thyroid Hormone Replacement Therapy.
✅Dermatological Innovations:💉 The use of Biologic agents in Folliculitis Decalvans underscored the growing importance of targeted immunotherapies.
✨️Academic Excellence and Collaboration. Speakers delivered rigorous, data-driven findings, reflecting the symposium’s alignment with the Decade of Science and Technology (2022–2031) proclaimed in Russia. Celebrating Legacy and Progress. The conference also honored KSMU’s 90-year legacy as a hub for medical education and research. Associate Prof. Rajkumar D.S.R., Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of KSMU, remarked- “This symposium not only advances pharmacological science but also reaffirms our commitment to addressing global health challenges through innovation.”
