The body and the mind are nothing more than the elements at play. This “you” that you think yourself to be is made up of the elements, and the elements dance to nature’s tune, to its rhythm.
The physical body is simply the gross essence of food, and the mind the subtle essence of food. Both are elemental in nature, belong to nature, and this is who/what most people think they are.
When you believe you are the body and mind, you become subject to the whims of nature, tossed about in the seemingly chaotic cycles of life. But when you rise above the instruments of nature and realize you are so much more than the body/mind complex, you begin to see the harmony, the perfect order of life.
Only then can you let go and surrender to the magnificent play of life.
Did you know the moon affects you just as much as you affect it? You may not see how this is possible, but it is! You might easily accept that the moon influences you, because you can see how her pull moves the tides, how her presence stirs the waters of the Earth. And since your body, too, is mostly water, it’s only natural that her energy affects the water in you.
But what you may not realize is that this relationship goes both ways. When the waters in you are moved, stirred, it makes you feel some kind of way. This is energy in motion or what you know as emotion, a feeling that runs through you, and the energy or feeling you hold, emits a vibration, which also ripples outward into the vast field of existence, touching everything, even the moon. You are not separate from creation, you are woven into it. So the dance between you and the moon is a mutual exchange of energy, an unseen conversation between you and the cosmos.
All of life, all of physical reality, when broken down to its essential nature, is made of the same elements. These elements are constantly at play, repelling and attracting, and you mistake this movement for chaos because you’re looking from the level of the elements.
But from the level of truth, this movement is a beautifully orchestrated dance. And all parts are needed. “You” are needed as you are, to further this beautiful dance called life.
Aum Namah Shivaya!
