Dr. Chitra Ramamurthy, Medical Director of The Eye Foundation, has been elected Vice President of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) at its annual conference in Jaipur.

With a victory margin of nearly 6,000 votes, this election reflects the immense trust placed in her by 28,000 ophthalmologists represented by AIOS worldwide.

In keeping with AIOS leadership tradition, she is expected to assume the Presidency in two years.

This milestone also sets the stage for a historic moment in AIOS history, where Dr. Chitra Ramamurthy and Dr. Ramamurthy will become the first couple to both serve as AIOS Presidents.
