TWELFTH SERIES; Action is a high road to self-confidence and self-esteem , Put all excuses aside and remember this – you are capable. Self-command is the main elegance. Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye , Every time I became too confident, life reminded me I should not. All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence; then success is sure. Life is too short to waste any amount of time on wondering what other people think about you. In the first place, if they had better things going on in their lives, they wouldn't have the time to sit around and talk about you. What's important to me is not others' opinions of me, but what's important to me is my opinion of myself.

ELEVENTH SERIES; There is a displacement between when the carer starts grieving and when the consumer starts grieving. When someone first gets ill the carer starts grieving but the consumer is still going through a period of illness, so they don't start grieving until further down the track and then there's displacement between the grief of the consumer and the carer and that can cause problems and conflict because people want to move on at different paces. Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. Sometimes the people around you won’t understand your journey. They don’t need to, it’s not for them , She is beautiful piece of broken pottery, put back together by her own hands. And a critical world judges her cracks while missing the beauty of how she made herself whole again. The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen .

TENTH SERIES ; Self worth is how you value yourself. It’s not based on what others think of you or the things you have (or haven’t) accomplished—it comes from within. But it’s easy to forget that our worth isn’t determined by outside forces.

When it comes to measuring self-worth, many people use something just as unreliable as a random stick,” Morin writes. “You may not even consciously think about what type of stick you use to measure your self-worth. But it's likely that, deep down, you know. After all, when you feel like you're measuring up, you feel good about yourself. But when you feel as though you've fallen short, your self-esteem likely plummets.”I’ve learned this lesson the hard way. I’m a people pleaser, and I let that determine my worth for the longest time. I always felt like I had to prove myself as worthy of everyone for everything. I did things that made others happier than it made me. I did this so often that I lost track of what I valued , Thankfully, I recently realized that this "measuring stick" set me up for disappointment. I decided that what made me happy mattered more than pleasing others. I’m still a work in progress, but I now try to measure my self-worth based on my own sense of self rather than how other people perceive me. NINETH SERIES; Tears shed for self are tears of weakness, but tears shed for others are a sign of strength. Never be ashamed of your tears. Be proud that you are still natural. Be proud that you can express the inexpressible through your tears. There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love. EIGHTH SERIES; Our minds, thoughts, and feelings need to be cared for frequently and purposefully , Our mental health influences so much about how we move through life, how we view ourselves, and how we relate to others. That’s why it is important to discuss our mental health with professionals or trusted friends to find ways of cultivating a positive and healthy mindset, and to be reminded that we’re never alone when we feel like our mental and emotional inner lives are not in a healthy place. I would say what others have said: It gets better. One day, you’ll find your tribe. You just have to trust that people are out there waiting to love you and celebrate you for who you are. SEVENTH SERIES ; The advice I’d give to somebody that’s silently struggling is: You don’t have to live that way. You don’t have to struggle in silence. You can be un-silent. You can live well with a mental health condition, as long as you open up to somebody about it, because it’s really important you share your experience with people so that you can get the help that you need , You don’t have to be positive all the time. It’s perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated, scared and anxious. Having feelings doesn’t make you a negative person. It makes you human . Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain , It is okay to have depression, it is okay to have anxiety and it is okay to have an adjustment disorder. We need to improve the conversation. We all have mental health in the same way we all have physical health.

A refusal on the part of psychiatrists and therapists to validate the horrors of their patients' tortured past implies a refusal to take seriously the unconscious psychological mechanisms that individuals need to use to protect themselves from the unspeakable. Such a denial is, however, no longer ethical, for it is in the human capacity to dissociate that lies part of the secret of both childhood abuse and the horrors of the N**i genocide, both forms of human violence so often carried out by 'respectable' men and women. Our need to be "greater than" or "less than" has been a defense against toxic shame. A shameful act was committed upon us. The perpetrator walked away, leaving us with the shame. We absorbed the notion that we are somehow defective. To cover for this we constructed a false self, a masked self. And it is this self that is the overachiever or the dunce and People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that's bu****it. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you carry it.

FIFTH SERIES; Hiding mental illness symptoms was a way of life. From an early age quickly learned it wasn’t OK to talk about negative emotions, depression, self-harm, su***de or psychosis and was loved as the manic child and ignored as the depressed one. This learned then to mask who was and act like the people around me did. This stunted the development of a personality that was my own. Always masking lead to a lot of years of being undiagnosed. Finally reached my breaking point though.

The months leading up to being diagnosed with type 1 bipolar was some of the hardest times had to face in life and was constantly struggling and striving to hide symptoms. It had gotten to the point where was cycling between mania and depression every three to six days and was completely out of control, but yet trying so desperately to contain the madness & was withdrawing from relationships, was spending extra hours at work to avoid facing the truth & was short with people, never letting anyone in enough to see what was going on. All time was spent trying to mask the mood shifting episodes. It was becoming apparent to people around me and was losing the battle of trying to hide it ,knew what was going on and was scared of what it meant to be diagnosed. For one thing, it meant couldn’t deny it any longer.

FOURTH SERIES; In simple terms, mindfulness is being aware of what is happening to you and around you right now without wishing it were different – even when it seems trivial or negative.

Mindfulness also means accepting your life and not being critical or judgmental. In essence, practising mindfulness is simple and straightforward, but it may take time to develop the skills. Having inspiration in the form of mindfulness quotes can help you see the benefits of the practice and give you the power to keep going. So many of us are rushing through life, doing the things we have to do: the treadmill of work, paying the bills, taking care of the family, etc. But in doing so, we often don’t stop to take in the world around us fully. Being mindful means consciously being aware, stopping to appreciate every moment of life, instead of living it at breakneck speed. Meditation is a vital way to purify and quiet the mind, thus rejuvenating the body. The goal of meditation is not to get rid of thoughts or emotions. The goal is to become more aware of your thoughts and emotions and learn how to move through them without getting stuck.
