The EIS training programme is conducted by Ministry of Health, Government of India in collaboration with Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta, GA, USA. This is a flagship training programme of CDC, USA to create highly skilled public health experts across the globe. India is the only country outside of US with EIS Programme which is approved as the Approved as Super Specialty Programme for Epidemiology Training in the country
