During the awareness session, the SANKALP: HEW team provided information on the components of Mission Shakti and also discussed the issues related to women and girls and the need of slogan beti bachao beti padhao...the team also discuss women-centric schemes available for the upliftment and empowerment of women also sensitized participants on gender equality and explained that every person, regardless of their gender identity, deserves respect and equal opportunities
Team also spoke about gender, gender equality and inequality, problems of gender inequality, major reasons for gender discrimination and sexual harassment at workplace.

Furthermore, as part of Swachhta Pakhwada, the team gave awareness about
Swachhta and how it's necessary to memorise people about their duties to keep their surroundings clean. As a part of society, we remember our rights but don’t care about duties. People feel that cleanliness is the duty of some specific Government departments and thus they recklessly spread littering and dumping anywhere assuming it is their birth right.

Week 09: BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO.

Dated 13-08-2024: Under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Qazi ,SANKALP: Hub for Empowerment of Women Doda had
an interaction session
with Dy.SP Hqrs Doda, Ajay Anand sir and SHO Women Police Station Mohd Farooq Katoch at women Police Station, Doda. The session was organised by the Hub for Empowerment of Women under Mission Shakti along with
One Stop Centre.

Mission Shakti team discusses various cases with DySP Doda. Ajay Anand sir informed the team and focused on issues like women safety, protection and empowerment of women and women related legislation.

He discussed that the crime rate related to women and children is increasing day by day in Doda and motivated the team how we can
use campaigns to reach every child and family. He said that we should raise awareness and provide counselling at the grassroots level to ensure that everyone feels valued and cared through parenting interventions, family interventions, wellbeing initiatives, and early childhood education. DYSP sir also stresses on changing the behavior first as changing the mindset would entail a longer process. He also mentioned that the issues should be to interact with women, young girls and young boys, so that they get aware of it.

Later, several cases under the POCSO Act were reviewed in detail.

Week 8: Last day of Gender Sensitization Week at Panchayat Level on Women-Centric Schemes under the 100-Day Special Awareness Cum Enrollment Drive conducted by SANKALP: HEW, Mission Shakti Doda.

SANKALP: Hub for Empowerment of Women Doda under Social Welfare Department organized an awareness camp at Faridiya Model Higher Secondary School Doda.

During the awareness session, the SANKALP: HEW team provided information on the components of Mission Shakti and women-centric schemes available for the upliftment and empowerment of women. The team also sensitized participants on gender equality and explained that every person, regardless of their gender identity, deserves respect and equal opportunities
Team also spoke about gender, gender equality and inequality, problems of gender inequality, major reasons for gender discrimination and sexual harassment at workplace.

Furthermore, as part of Swachhta Pakhwada, the awareness about

Educating individuals about the social constructs of gender, challenging stereotypes, and addressing the power imbalances and discrimination faced by different genders, particularly women and marginalized gender groups. The goal is to foster respect, equity, and inclusivity, and to create environments where all genders can participate and thrive equally.

The program was attended by AWWs, Staff of OSC and local women.

On the directions and supervision of DSWO Doda Tariq Qazi (JKAS) Sir Sankalp HEW conducted an awareness camp at High School Beli.
The awareness camp included multiple essential components of Sankalp HEW .

Awareness on *Institutional Support:* Students were informed about various institutions working in the district for the welfare, betterment, and protection of women in distress.

*Financial Literacy:* Specialist from Sankalp Hub provided financial literacy education, highlighting schemes from different departments that offers financial assistance, loans, and subsidies for startups and self-employment.

*Women-Centric* Schemes: Awareness was raised about various schemes specifically designed for women's welfare.

*Emergency Procedures:* Information on emergency numbers and the proper channels to follow if a girl finds herself in a difficult situation was provided, including which government institutions to contact first and what services are available to women in distress.

*Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA):* Boys were sensitized about the NMBA, and women were encouraged to monitor their family members for any behavioral or health changes, along with the steps to take if issues are identified.

The awareness camp included multiple essential components of Sankalp HEW .

On the directions and supervision of DSWO Doda ,Mission Shakti SANKALP: Hub for Empowerment of Women Doda Social Welfare Department organized organised a Legal Awareness programme on legal rights, child protection, Dowry Prohibition Act 1961 and the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 and other important acts and women rights at Hostel of Girls Higher secondary School Doda.

The main aim of this legal awareness programme was to educate students, particularly female students, about their legal rights and remedies in cases of any harassment and domestic violence.

The staff of Sankalp highlighted topics related to children in conflict with law; juvenile justice law; legal proceedings; child rights and responsibilities; delinquency; bullying; cyber crimes ,legal provisions regarding women’s rights, and discussed the legal procedures for reporting and seeking redressal for any violations or offences under the acts etc with emphasis on their prevention and reporting.

This programme was a part of on-going 100 days special awareness cm enrolment drive for Mission Shakti.

Aim was to promote legal literacy and empower women to assert their legal rights. Raising awareness about the Dowry Protection Act and Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act is crucial in preventing and addressing incidents of dowry harassment and domestic violence, which continue to affect many women in our society and thus becoming the cause of their distress.
The event was attended by 53 students who were very keen to learn about these Acts/Laws.
DHEW team advised the children that in addition to avoiding any action against the law, children should carry this message to their homes, friends and families that we need to report about any unlawful activity that might be happening around us, to stop their spread in the society.They were given a brief discription about how to report incidents and seek help , ensuring that the students felt safe and informed.

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) member Doda at Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School Doda.

The main aim of this awareness programme was to educate students, particularly female students, about their legal rights and remedies in cases of any harassment and domestic violence.

The programme was spearheaded by Advocate Miss Aqsa representative of DLSA who
graced the occasion and shared their views on a wide range of topics related to children in conflict with law; juvenile justice law; legal proceedings; child rights and responsibilities; delinquency; bullying; cyber crimes ,legal provisions regarding women’s rights, and discussed the legal procedures for reporting and seeking redressal for any violations or offences under the acts etc with emphasis on their prevention and reporting.

The staff provided a brief yet impactful demonstration on the concept of good touch and bad touch , encouraging students to be vigilant and conscious of inappropriate behaviour.The students were encouraged to speak up and not allow others to make them feel uncomfortable.
DHEW team advised the children that in addition to avoiding any action against the law, children should carry this message to their homes, friends and families that we need to report about any unlawful activity that might be happening around us, to stop their spread in the society.They were given a brief discription about how to report incidents and seek help , ensuring that the students felt safe and informed.
The interactive session concluded with a lively question and answer segment ,where students posed their doubts and queries. The responses from the experts helped clarify many aspects of legal rights and protection, leaving the students more knowledgeable and confident about seeking help when needed.
