IMA Dwarka & FOGSI Onco Committee
“Elimination of Cervical Cancer through HPV Vaccination – Awareness Programme”

IMA Dwarka, in collaboration with the FOGSI Onco Committee, successfully conducted a national-level webinar on Elimination of Cervical Cancer through HPV Vaccination, under the aegis of IMA and FOGSI. The programme was ably hosted by Dr. Tushar Arya, Vice President, IMA Dwarka.
The session opened with Dr. Priya Ganeshkumar, who introduced the national leadership and core team driving this important initiative across India, including:
Dr. Dilip Bhanushali (National President, IMA HQ), Dr. Sarbari Dutta (Secretary General, IMA), Dr. Sunita Tandulwadkar (President, FOGSI), Dr. Suvarna Khadilkar (Secretary General, FOGSI), Dr. Nomeeta Gupta (National Convenor, IMA), Dr. Priya Ganeshkumar (National Convenor, FOGSI), Dr. Saritha Shamsunder (Co-Convenor, FOGSI), and Dr. Deepa Gupta (State Coordinator, IMA-FOGSI HPV Programme).
She also presented a concise statistical overview of HPV training and its nationwide impact.
The IMA Dwarka team was then introduced:
Dr. Deepmala Lalchandani (President), Dr. Amit Kumar Tyagi (Honorary Secretary), Dr. Mukesh Verma (Finance Secretary), and Dr. Prakash Lalchandani (Past President & Resource Coordinator).
Dr. Prakash Lalchandani highlighted the relevance, vision, and long-term impact of HPV vaccination in preventing cervical cancer.
This was followed by an engaging and thought-provoking talk by Dr. Amita Gupta on “Debunking Myths about HPV Vaccine”, addressing common misconceptions with clarity and evidence.
A highly interactive reverse panel discussion added great value to the session, with Dr. Shalini Agarwal, Dr. Anku Sachdeva, Dr. Nutan Yadav, and Dr. Sunita Verma as panelists, and Dr. Deepa Gupta as the expert. The discussion witnessed enthusiastic participation and numerous audience questions, making it one of the highlights of the programme.
The webinar concluded on a high note with a heartfelt vote of thanks to all speakers, panelists, and participants for their active involvement and commitment towards a shared goal — eliminating cervical cancer through awareness and prevention.
Together, awareness today leads to prevention tomorrow.
