An enriching and memorable academic evening 🌿
On 7th January, the Indian Medical Association – Dwarka, in association with Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, successfully organized an informative CME program, attended by more than 60 esteemed delegates.

IMA Dwarka & FOGSI Onco Committee
“Elimination of Cervical Cancer through HPV Vaccination – Awareness Programme”

IMA Dwarka, in collaboration with the FOGSI Onco Committee, successfully conducted a national-level webinar on Elimination of Cervical Cancer through HPV Vaccination, under the aegis of IMA and FOGSI. The programme was ably hosted by Dr. Tushar Arya, Vice President, IMA Dwarka.

The session opened with Dr. Priya Ganeshkumar, who introduced the national leadership and core team driving this important initiative across India, including:
Dr. Dilip Bhanushali (National President, IMA HQ), Dr. Sarbari Dutta (Secretary General, IMA), Dr. Sunita Tandulwadkar (President, FOGSI), Dr. Suvarna Khadilkar (Secretary General, FOGSI), Dr. Nomeeta Gupta (National Convenor, IMA), Dr. Priya Ganeshkumar (National Convenor, FOGSI), Dr. Saritha Shamsunder (Co-Convenor, FOGSI), and Dr. Deepa Gupta (State Coordinator, IMA-FOGSI HPV Programme).
She also presented a concise statistical overview of HPV training and its nationwide impact.

The IMA Dwarka team was then introduced:
Dr. Deepmala Lalchandani (President), Dr. Amit Kumar Tyagi (Honorary Secretary), Dr. Mukesh Verma (Finance Secretary), and Dr. Prakash Lalchandani (Past President & Resource Coordinator).

Dr. Prakash Lalchandani highlighted the relevance, vision, and long-term impact of HPV vaccination in preventing cervical cancer.

This was followed by an engaging and thought-provoking talk by Dr. Amita Gupta on “Debunking Myths about HPV Vaccine”, addressing common misconceptions with clarity and evidence.

A highly interactive reverse panel discussion added great value to the session, with Dr. Shalini Agarwal, Dr. Anku Sachdeva, Dr. Nutan Yadav, and Dr. Sunita Verma as panelists, and Dr. Deepa Gupta as the expert. The discussion witnessed enthusiastic participation and numerous audience questions, making it one of the highlights of the programme.

The webinar concluded on a high note with a heartfelt vote of thanks to all speakers, panelists, and participants for their active involvement and commitment towards a shared goal — eliminating cervical cancer through awareness and prevention.

Together, awareness today leads to prevention tomorrow.

IMA Dwarka, in collaboration with Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka, successfully conducted a CME programme yesterday, attended by more than 60 delegates. The programme held special significance as it was the second Najafgarh-specific CME, reaffirming IMA Dwarka’s commitment to focused and meaningful academic engagement for colleagues in this region.

The CME began with a welcome address by Dr. Amit Tyagi, Secretary, IMA Dwarka, who shared two proud moments for our branch:
• Dr. Deepmala Lalchandani, President IMA Dwarka, being adjudged Best President among all IMA local branches by IMA National HQ.
• Dr. Mukesh Verma being elected President-Elect, IAP Delhi Chapter, with a record margin.

The first academic session featured a highly informative lecture by Dr. Amit Pendharkar on Recent Advances in Cardiology, chaired by Dr. Ajay Yadav, Dr. Gajveer Singh, Dr. P. R. Mishra, and Dr. Shekhar Kansara. This was followed by an excellent and practical second session by Dr. Neeraj Godara, chaired by Dr. Raman Gautam, Dr. Naresh Chandra, and Dr. Santosh Sinha.

The event culminated with a felicitation ceremony conducted by Dr. Mukesh Verma, followed by a motivating and heartfelt address by Dr. Prakash Lalchandani, and a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Tushar Arya, bringing the academic proceedings to a graceful close.

A special, heartfelt thank you to all the delegates who spared their valuable time from busy clinical schedules to join us. Your presence and engagement gave true meaning to the programme and continue to inspire IMA Dwarka to organise such region-focused academic initiatives.

Women’s Wing IMA Dwarka | CME Update

The Women’s Wing, IMA Dwarka, in association with GSK, successfully conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on 12 December 2025 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Sector 13, Dwarka, under the able guidance of Dr Deepmala Lalchandani, President, IMA Dwarka.

The CME was efficiently organized and moderated by Dr Neeru Kiran Banerjee.
We were honoured by the presence of Dr Dipika Deka and Dr Asmita Rathore as Guests of Honour.

The scientific session featured Dr Sanjay Kalra, renowned endocrinologist from Karnal, who delivered an insightful talk on
“The Silent Challenge of Treating Subclinical Hypothyroidism in Pregnancy.”
(The session was relayed live from Karnal to multiple venues.)

Dr Nikita Banerjee, IVF Consultant and Director, Hatch Fertility Centre, Sector 12, Dwarka, joined as Expert and updated the audience on current guidelines for investigations, TSH targets, and dosing in patients undergoing ART.

The session was chaired by Dr Gargi Vikas Sharma, Dr Preeti Tahilyani, and Dr Sunita Verma, who enriched the discussion and concluded the CME with valuable take-home messages.

Dr Neeru Kiran Banerjee also acknowledged the gracious presence of past Presidents of IMA Dwarka, Dr Prakash Lalchandani and Dr Kiran Shankar Banerjee, and warmly welcomed Dr Amit Tyagi, Hon. Secretary, IMA Dwarka, thanking him for providing the platform and date for the Women’s Wing to conduct this academic activity.
