Familial adenomatous polyposis(FAP) with cancer re**um.

A young female patient presented to us with stage 3 cancer re**um lower 3rd and multiple (>100) adenomatous polyps involving whole of large intestine. The patient first received neoadjuvant chemo radiation (NACTRT). After that we successfully performed total proctocolectomy with posterior exenteration with end ileostomy.

Primary Cutaneous Neuroendocrine Carcinoma: Case with an Atypical Location.

A 40yrs old male patient presented to us with neuroendocrine carcinoma of scalp involving outer cortex of parietal bone.

We along with the help of neurosurgeon performed wide local excision of the tumor with temporoparietal craniectomy. The defect was closed by titanium mesh and rotation flap.

The patient recovered well and get discharged.

The important role of plastic and reconstructive surgery in cancer surgery

A 45 yrs old male patient presented to us with recurrent soft tissue sarcoma involving front of left knee.

We performed wide local excision taking adequate margin all-around the tumor and previous scar.

This created a large defect of 15x15cm not possible for primary repair.

The large defect was repaired by

Medial gastrocnemius myocutaneous flap.

The surgery was well done and the flap remains healthy.

A large sporadic left thoraco-abdominal desmoid(Diaphragmatic origin) in a young male patient: A rare case report.

A young male patient presented to us with left diaphragmatic desmoid tumor extending to left thoraco abdominal cavity and involving spleen and splenic flexure.

We successfully performed resection of the tumor with enbloc resection of left diaphragm including central tendon,spleen and splenic flexure.

The diaphragmatic defect was repaired by composite mesh and omentoplasty.

What is Sarcoma ?

Known as the Forgotten Cancer.
It is a rare cancer and the least discussed cancer in the literature.
It can arise from anywhere in the body.
It can affect any age group.
Children are affected in 15% cases.

Sarcomas are of two types
1. Soft tissue sarcoma (Arise from muscle,fat,blood vessels,nerves)
2. Bone sarcoma.

Sarcomas are curable if diagnosed and treated early.

Consult oncologist if you feel any abnormal lump or swelling in any part of body.
