“LASIK ke baad number wapas aa sakta hai?” is one of the most common questions we hear.

After the age of 40, it’s normal for most people to need reading glasses. That’s due to natural ageing of the eye, not because LASIK has failed.

In some cases, a slight power may return over time due to natural changes in the eye’s lens or cornea. But this usually happens gradually and remains minimal.

What this really means is LASIK gives long-term vision correction, but your eyes, like the rest of your body, continue to age.

👉 The right evaluation and guidance make all the difference.

A case that reminded us how critical timely intervention in eye care can be.

A patient presented with retinal detachment complicated by macular degeneration, a situation where delay could have led to permanent vision loss.

Under the care of Dr. Cyrus Shroff, the case was managed successfully, resulting in a positive surgical outcome and restored confidence for the family.

What stood out was not just the complexity of the condition, but the trust placed in Shroff Eye Centre, built over generations of specialised ophthalmic care.

This story reinforces an important message:

Early diagnosis and access to experienced retina specialists can make all the difference.

POV: You’re an eye surgeon hearing the one thing you specifically said NOT to do.

We love the dedication to the look, but your cornea needs time to heal! Post-LASIK recovery is a team effort…we do the surgery, you do the resting. No colored contacts (or any contacts!) until we give you the green signal!

Why Water and Contact Lenses Are a Dangerous Mix 👁️💧

For the millions of people who rely on contact lenses daily, convenience often leads to high-risk habits. One of the most common and dangerous…is wearing lenses while swimming or washing your face.

Dr. Apoorva from Shroff Eye Centre explains the sight-threatening infections.

The Science of the Risk:
- Microbial Trapping: Water (even treated pool water or tap water) contains microorganisms that can become trapped between the lens and the eye.
- Corneal Deposition: These organisms can then deposit directly onto the cornea, the eye's protective front surface.
- Irreversible Damage: This environment significantly increases the risk of severe infections that can lead to permanent vision loss if not treated immediately.

At Shroff Eye Centre, our 110-year legacy is built on proactive patient education. Understanding these small habits today is the key to preserving your sight for a lifetime.

For patients managing Glaucoma (Kala Motiya), the efficacy of the treatment depends heavily on one factor: Consistency.

In this expert segment, Dr. Ramanjit Sihota, Glaucoma Specialist at Shroff Eye Centre, explains why "whenever I remember" isn't enough when it comes to eye drops. To maintain stable intraocular pressure and protect the optic nerve, patients must follow specific timing intervals.

The Essential Timing Rules:

The 12-Hour Rule: For twice-daily drops, a strict 12-hour gap (e.g., 7 AM and 7 PM) is required to ensure 24-hour pressure control.
The 8-Hour Rule: If prescribed three times a day, drops should be spaced 8 hours apart (e.g., 6 AM, 2 PM, and 10 PM).
The Power of the Alarm: A simple phone alarm can be the difference between progressive nerve damage and stabilized vision.

At Shroff Eye Centre, we emphasize patient education as a core pillar of our 110-year legacy in eye care. Correct medication habits today prevent irreversible vision loss tomorrow.
