What is Sensory Integration?

Every child learns and grows through their senses — touch, sound, sight, movement, taste, smell, and body awareness. Their brain takes in this information and helps them respond — like covering ears at loud sounds, balancing on a swing, or knowing how to put on a shirt.

But when the brain finds it hard to process sensory input, daily life becomes challenging. This is called a Sensory Integration difficulty (or Sensory Processing difficulty).

👀 Common signs parents may notice:

Clothes feel “too scratchy” / avoids brushing hair

Covers ears in noisy places

Scared of swings or constantly jumping & spinning

Bumps into things, chews on objects, craves tight hugs

Extremely picky eater due to textures or smells

🌈 How Sensory Integration Therapy helps:
Through playful activities like swinging, jumping, brushing, obstacle courses, and deep-pressure play, therapy helps the brain organize sensory information better. Kids learn to stay calm, focus in class, enjoy play, and manage daily tasks more confidently.

💡 If your child struggles with focus, emotions, eating, or daily activities, sensory integration therapy may help.
