For those who are feeling entrapped during the lockdown, you might have got a glimpse of how it feels to be estranged on a dry island of loneliness surrounded by a sea of emotions but you can't process it for your good.
Mental health works similarly and it's not easy to be put down in words or be explained through an analogy. It's what every individual with mental health problems feels and their experience may vary vastly.
However, one factor that remains constant is the need to be understood, for all the mood swings, angry comments, silent treatment, passive aggressive behaviour, isolating self, self-blaming, hiding pain by using humour or any other means, it is a CALL FOR HELP. All it requires is empathy and care.
The assurance that it's okay to be feeling what you are feeling and the support that the society is with the people battling with mental health problems.

Now that you know how being trapped feels, maybe you can offer some support to those who find themselves trapped more than often.

"When people open up privately about a traumatic event, they are more likely to talk with others about it — suggesting that writing leads indirectly to reaching out for social support that can aid healing," says a Harvard Medical School journal.

If you are hesitant of sharing your feelings with people, you may wanna start writing them down. In that way, there's an outlet of your feelings without worrying about what people would think.
