AGRO PHARMA NUTRITION Organised veterinary awareness and clinical camp collaboration with College of Veterinary Science (COVS) Rampura Phul, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University at village Badiala, Tehsil Maur, District Bathinda. The camp was organised under the patronage of Dr.Inderjeet Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and chairmanship of Dr Manish Kumar Chatli, worthy Dean COVS Rampura Phul. More than 80 farmers from Badiala and surrounding villages attended the camp . Dr Manish Kumar Chatli acknowledged Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Inderjeet Singh for being the driving force behind such activities for the betterment of livestock owners. Dr. Chatli also briefed the farmers about various facilities and courses offered at the college. He also shared with farmers that the College is starting various training programmes on dairy, goat, pig and poultry farming. He further urged the farmers to carry out livestock rearing scientifically to increase the productivity and revenues. Dr. Yashwant Singh, Professor and Head, Livestock Farm Complex, stressed on rearing high yielding animals and asked people to concentrate on breed improvement, feeding balanced ration and providing hygienic environment to the livestock. Dr. Pritpal Singh Dhaliwal, Professor, Veterinary Medicine discussed common health issues encountered by animals in the summer season and emphasized on prevention and management of Mastitis. Dr Inderpal Singh, Veterinary Surgery discussed about udder health and lameness in dairy cattle. Dr. Dawood discussed about the anesterous and repeat breeding problems of cattle and its management. All the experts also replied to the queries and problems of the individual farmers. The livestock owners from Badiala and surrounding villages also brought their animals for examination by experts and were happy to receive free consultation and medicines. About 50 animals were examined and treated for various ailments by experts from Veterinary Clinical Complex, COVS, Rampura Phul. Finally Dr Manish Kumar Chatli thanked officials of the Agro Pharma Nutrition company for sponsoring the camp and providing mineral mixture and dewormers to the livestock dwellers. Mr Gurpreet Singh village sarpanch along with villagers thanked all the experts of the college and showed their happiness that such facilities are available to them in their vicinity. They also requested the Dean CoVS to organise such camps in near future too.
