Glaucoma is a blinding disease of the eyes. It does not have many signs & symptoms & patient gets gradually blind without his knowledge. It is the field of vision which gets restricted & the central vision remains alright till the disease is advanced. It is hereditary disease and mostly starts at the age of 35 to 40 years. It can be diagnosed by expert doctor . Myopes & Diabetics are more prone to get glaucoma. When diagnosed, the eye pressure can be controlled with drugs. When drugs fail, surgery can be undertaken.
