Anemia is common among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), including those on dialysis. Iron deficiency is the most common reversible cause of anemia among such patients. This may be due to a true paucity of iron stores (absolute iron deficiency) or a relative (functional) deficiency that prevents the use of available iron stores. Several risk factors contribute to absolute and functional iron deficiency in CKD, including blood losses, impaired iron absorption, and chronic inflammation.

Kokino ™ is widely prescribed for iron replacement therapy in CKD patients. It is used as an iron maintenance treatment either alone or along with erythropoietin treatment.

Sevelamer Carbonate belongs to the group of phosphate binders. The active substance is a polymer that binds phosphates via its functional groups and removes them from the bloodstream. It is used for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia.

People with severe kidney disease can have high levels of phosphate in the blood. This excess phosphate must be cleared else it can lead to other complications. Sevaco3 works by combining with phosphates that are ingested thereby reducing the overall amount of phosphate in the blood.

: Anthem Biosciences Pvt Ltd and CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) Hyderabad, have signed an agreement for technology transfer and manufacture of the anti-Covid-19 drug 2-DG.

Under the terms of the licence agreement, Anthem Biosciences gets a non-exclusive licence on process knowhow for synthesis of 2-DG.

Anthem's Tridart -1/2 is an anti-diabetic made of a combination of three drugs - Glimepiride, Metformin, and Pioglitazone. It is widely prescribed to patients with Type-2 diabetes, who struggle to control their blood sugar levels with diet and exercise alone.

Glimepiride stimulates the beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin, leading to reduced blood sugar levels. Metformin regulates the sugar production by the cells in the liver and delays sugar absorption from the intestines. Pioglitazone increases the sensitivity of the liver, muscle, and fat cells to insulin, hence contributing to controlled blood sugar levels.

With the safety of our employees being our topmost priority, Anthem has completed our first vaccination drive with 3000 vaccines administered successfully. With the support from the Government of and the health officials from Taluk Health Centre, Anekal Taluk, and District Health Centre, Ramanagara, we have managed to get all employees their first jab. We sincerely thank the health officials for organizing the drive across both our facilities in a safe and seamless manner by following all the Government approved Covid-19 protocols.
