Established in 1945 in pre-independence India as Great India Industrial and Pharmaceutical Laboratories and later abbreviated to 'GIPLA', the Company initially had 3 founding partners hailing from diverse backgrounds such as a trader, chemist and an entrepreneur. In the beginning, operations were based out of a modest working space in present day Fort area in Mumbai, where the primary product manufactured was an anti-malarial formulation. In the subsequent years, as the scale of operations grew, an office and formulating laboratory space were used in Lalbaug and Dadar area's respectively. Eventually the factory was moved to its current location at Lower Parel in 1956 from where our popular Gipla Gripe Water has been prepared and dispatched ever since. With time, our product range as well as outreach into the market has grown. Today, our factory is a certified GMP plant following the directives established under the Schedule-M guidelines. We market various Ayurvedic and Allopathic formulae of cough syrups, tonics, mouthwash, tablets, capsules, ointments, injectables and disinfectants beside the expanding range of Gripe Water brands. Export markets have also been entered in various territories as popularity and quality of our products is established. Throughout this long journey, we have enjoyed 3 things: the support of our suppliers, goodwill of clients and the invaluable trust of the millions of consumers of Gipla products. For these, we consider ourselves very fortunate.
