Ayurveda identifies three basic types of energy or functional principles that are present in everyone and everything. Since there are no single words in English that convey these concepts, we use the original Sanskrit words vata, pitta and kapha. These principles can be related to the basic biology of the body. -Vata is the subtle energy associated with movement — composed of Space and Air. .
-Pitta expresses as the body’s metabolic system — made up of Fire and Water. .
-Kapha is the energy that forms the body’s structure— formed from Earth and Water.

MEDITATION

Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. It’s about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. You’re not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You’re learning to observe them without judgment. And eventually, you may start to better understand them as well.

Meditation is an approach to training the mind, similar to the way that fitness is an approach to training the body. Many meditation techniques exist.
