We all are aware that all over the world Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery or Thoracoscopic Surgery(VATS) is developing in a big way.Pulmonologists & Thoracic surgeons for the last twenty years are trying very hard to develop this discipline. In India & also in our city – Kolkata, many of our colleagues are presently practicing as Interventional Pulmonologist & some as Minimally invasive thoracic surgeons.
This impetus has led us to organize into a forum- Kolkata Initiative for Thoracoscopic Surgery .
This Publication is first attempt to start the ball rolling. We hope your support, input & blessings will help us to fulfill our long cherished dream.
Unfortunately there is lack of coordination among us.We strongly feel that we must take initiative to develop this field .We should develop programme to train budding pulmonologists & thoracic surgeons. At the same time we must exchange knowledge in this field. We should know what other colleagues are doing? What is new in this discipline? What are the new recommendations?
This impetus has led us to organize into a forum- Kolkata Initiative for Thoracoscopic Surgery .
