Bengal Chemists & Druggists Association (B.C.D.A) is an oldest organisation in the trade of medicine in India., It has approximately 32,000 members in all over West Bengal.The motto of the organisation is the "Service to Humanity" Since its inception in 1921, under the Companies Act 1913, the association is providing consistent service to the society and its members. Dedicated professional service to the society gave an opportunity to the office bearer of B.C.D.A to understand unavailability of qualified pharmacists in the areas like medical shops, community & hospital pharmacy services, nursing home, clinical pharmacies etc. and also understood that the number of pharmacist catering in W.B are very less. To face the challenges ahead in the profession of pharmacy and also to fulfill the cherished dream of few predecessors, BCDA ventured to start a pharmacy college under its own management and founded BCDA Members Benevolent Trust. " BCDA Members Benevolent Trust " is duly registered by the Competent Authority. The motto of the trust is "upgrading of the pharmacy profession" and fund raised by the parent organisation BCDA and the trust itself are invested purely from philanthropic viewpoint, the resources would be generated from this college also come in great use for establishing and developing few more colleges in different parts of West Bengal. Based on the above motto, BCDA Members Benevolent Trust established "BCDA College of Pharmacy & Technology" in 2006, at Hridaypur, Barasat, Kolkata ‑ 700127, the College got approval from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and from Pharmacy Council of India (P.C.I) New Delhi.The college is affiliated by West Bengal University of Technology (W.B.U.T). The College is located within the metropolitan City of Kolkata. at 78, Jessore Road (South), Hridaypur, Kolkata ‑ 700127. Hridaypur has been developed in recent years and is now a modern centre incorporating nationalized Bank,Multi speciality Hospitals,Post Office, Markets etc. more or less with in one KM distance from the college. The College is located in a place of picturesque scenery and natural beauty. The self contented campus has a collegiate atmosphere. The College is well connected by bus route and railway. The nearest bus stand SHISHIR KUNJA on the Jessore Road (200 meters from the College), which has connected North Bengal in one way, the Bangladesh Border in the another way and the Central Kolkata in the southern site. Nearest Railway Station Hridaypur is within 1.0 KM distance, which has connected Sealdah, Barasat to Bangaon and Hasnabad. It is only 8 KM. away from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International and domestic Airport, Dum Dum, Kolkata.
