Most pet parents focus on the surgery. But outcomes are often decided after the procedure.

The first 7–10 days are critical. Strict rest, consistent medication, and proper wound care directly influence healing.

Equally important is monitoring—subtle changes in appetite, behaviour, or the surgical site can indicate early complications.

Timely follow-ups allow intervention before small issues become major setbacks.

In cancer patients, recovery is not just healing—it is a continuation of treatment.

Post-surgical care is not optional. It is part of the therapy.

What began as a routine spay revealed something unexpected — a large ovarian mass. After referral and a CT scan confirmed there was no spread of disease, surgery was performed to remove the tumour. At just two years old, Chickoo’s case shows how early detection and timely intervention can make all the difference. 🐾

This month, we’re talking about what most pet parents miss.

Gastrointestinal (GI) tumors in pets often don’t look alarming at first.
Just small changes…
that are easy to ignore.

• Weight loss
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Reduced appetite or energy

But sometimes, these are not “routine issues.”

They could be early signs of something far more serious.

GI cancers are more common than we think.
And early detection can make a life-changing difference.

At The Cancer Vet, we see this every day —
pets that could have been diagnosed earlier,
and pets that did get a chance… because someone acted in time.

This GI Tumor Awareness Month, we want you to notice more.

Because awareness isn’t just information.
It’s what gives pets a fighting chance.

👉 If your pet has ongoing digestive issues, don’t ignore them
👉 Share to spread awareness

Lia’s pet parents noticed a small lump near her ni**le during a routine check.
It looked tiny… but they didn’t ignore it.

After surgery, the mass was tested.

The report showed a low-grade mammary cancer — and because it was caught early and removed completely, Lia did not need chemotherapy.

Today, she’s bright, active, and back to being herself. 🐶

Many mammary tumors start as small, painless lumps, which is why they are often ignored in the beginning.

For mammary tumors, size matters.
The earlier they are removed, the better the outcome.

If you ever feel a lump near your pet’s mammary glands, don’t wait. Get it checked early. 🐾

March is Gastrointestinal Tumor Awareness Month.

Gastrointestinal (GI) tumors affect the digestive system of pets and are often difficult to detect early, because the symptoms can look like common stomach problems.

Persistent vomiting, diarrhea, appetite changes, or weight loss are sometimes dismissed as minor digestive issues — but when these signs continue or keep returning, they should not be ignored.

Awareness is important because early detection can significantly improve treatment options and outcomes.

If your pet has ongoing digestive symptoms, it’s always best to seek veterinary advice early.

Your awareness could help catch a problem before it becomes serious.

Sometimes healing isn’t just about medicine.
It’s also about care, patience, and the people who stay by their side.

During his 15 days with us, Shadow formed a special bond with Pradeep, one of our veterinary technicians. From feeding him to sitting beside him, Pradeep made sure Shadow never felt alone.

And slowly, day by day… Shadow got stronger.

Today, he’s back home — happy and enjoying life again. 🐾❤️

Because here, your pets are cared for like our own.

Shadow came to us critically ill with an intestinal tumor and severe complications after surgery. After 15 days of intensive care and recovery, he is now home, eating well, and continuing his fight with chemotherapy — a true fighter. 🐾💙
