There are certain whatsapp messages being forwarded asking women to defer covid vaccination for 5 days before and after periods as well as during their periods stating low immunity during me**es as a cause of concern.
This post is specifically to clarify that periods are not associated with any decrease in an individual's immunity. It's perfectly safe to get vaccinated during , before or after periods.
In case someone suffers from dysmenorrhoea (I.e. extreme pain during periods making the person unable to carry out daily tasks) , they can rest it out and get the vaccine after periods or whenever comfortable.
.
All women per se do not need to avoid it during periods.
Avoid forwarding unverified data on whatsapp.

How can we do that?? .
1. TALK
Let's all get talking about it. Only with proper education, can we expect society to get comfortable around it.
And education about menstruation doesn't have to be gender specific. It's about time we break the silence around it in our homes, schools or at work. .
2. SUPPORT
Let's be more supportive of all women in our lives. PMS is real and so are all the symptoms associated with it. Dont be ashamed of it. Be loud and be proud about PMS. .
3. CELEBRATE
