Nearly one-third of people with Type 2 diabetes have some form of heart disease, and chronic kidney disease affects 40% of type 2 diabetes patients.

Abbott, along with key health experts, developed the International Cardio-Renal Risk Assessment (ICRAS) tool to help identify heart and kidney risks in people living with Type 2 Diabetes. It brings together key health indicators, medical test reports, lifestyle factors, and gender specific differences to give a clearer, personalized assessment so that high-risk individuals can be identified early on.

Say hello to the women changing dairy quality for good nutrition in India!

They show up for farming trainings, actively participate in mentorship programs, and ensure they follow animal welfare and sustainable farming practices. These dairy farmers are committed to producing the best quality milk while also caring deeply for their animals.

The next generation of young women is already gearing up to learn modern farming practices, pursuing formal education in animal care, and building business literacy to advance their communities.

Abbott is working with ~12,000 female dairy farmers to support them with everything they need to succeed, increasing dairy milk production by 55% and benefiting the families who rely on science-based nutrition.

Women’s health, especially reproductive health, has long been a hushed conversation.
Cervical cancer remains the second most common cancer affecting women in India, even though it is largely preventable. In 2021, India joined the WHO’s call to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030.

As we move toward that goal, progress requires greater awareness, improved access to screening, and more open conversations.
As technology advances with quicker and more accessible testing options, we must also break societal barriers and normalize discussions that empower women to take lifesaving action.

What does building healthy habits really look like in today’s homes?

Abbott partnered with Sesame Workshop to help families create healthy routines that last and support a child’s long-term well-being. At the Kidsstoppress panel discussion, Dr. Rohita Shetty, Medical Affairs Head, Abbott India, and Dr. Jayanti Prakash, Director - Education, Content & Curriculum, Sesame Workshop India, joined Mansi Zaveri, Founder of Kidsstoppress, to discuss the foundations of lifelong health - balanced meals, adequate sleep, and staying active.

As non-communicable diseases continue to rise, prevention begins with small, consistent actions at home and within communities.

There’s a reason a hug can shift your whole mood. Even a quick embrace has been shown to lower stress and increase oxytocin—the hormone linked to bonding—while also helping reduce blood pressure and heart rate. Maybe that’s why, in certain moments, a hug feels like exactly what you needed.

It sounds funny, but laughter is science. Shared laughter releases feel-good hormones and reduces stress, supporting heart function. That’s probably why laughing with someone you love loves your heart right back.

Hormonal health plays an important role in how we feel and function every day. Thyroid hormones help regulate metabolism, which also supports brain function. When thyroid function is disrupted, it can show up as brain fog, forgetfulness or difficulty with attention and memory. Understanding this connection helps place cognitive health in a broader context for your daily health.
