Aah s**t, here we go again!

It’s festive season going on in India and gyms are beginning to get less crowded.

Which is a good thing for people who actually give a f**k about their healths and show up regularly regardless of festivals and what not.

By the end of the year, which is not too far away, there will be barely 5-6 people working out. That’s then our festival starts!🤣🔥💪🏻

Then, in January all or a sudden people will feel guilty for stuffing their faces with oily, sugary stuff causing them to crowd up the gyms again!

You can make any exercise more challanging for your clients if you see them doing it too easily with minimal effort.

Being a personal trainer is not just about possessing knowledge but also about how you use the knowledge you possess to best suit your client’s goals.

It takes a creative mind to add nuances and variations to the exercises you have been making them perform.

Especially when you have a client like who owns a brand that stands for creativity among other values you do need to stimulate your brain to keep things interesting 🔥🙌🏻💪🏻

Challenging his pecs, delts, triceps and core after a brutal push day to see how well they fire after exhaustion.
A regular plank is relatively easy for him now.

Try this in your next workout if you find a conventional plank easy!

We’re so busy chasing our goals that seldom do we focus on habits that get us to our goals.

Here are three take-aways from the book Atomic Habits by James Clear which will get you to your goals faster and keep you going when you don’t feel motivated enough to put in the work:

1. Focus on systems that get you to your goals.

Eg: if you want to grow muscles you first need to build a system/habits that get you to the gym consistently and push you to improve.

2. If you want to bring a change in yourself start identifying yourself in a different way than you have until now.

Eg: if you want to quit smoking stop identifying yourself as a smoker. When someone offeres you a smoke, instead if saying, “I’m not a smoker”, say “I’m too health conscious to smoke”.

3. Make small changes in your routine and habits to bring a big change in the long run.

Eg: if you goal is to wake up early use your phone a few hours less the day before, sleep just 1 hour early the night before, get atleast 10 mins of exercise to start with.
Eventually things will pick the momentum and you’ll notice a huge difference maybe a month down the line.

Injuries can be tough to recover from especially if you don’t pay attention to rehab work. I’ve had my fair share of sprains/strains/impingements and I am currently recovering from a shoulder impingement.

What gets me back to my regular workouts though is ‘s expertise and experience of dealing with injuries and helping me recover to make me stronger than ever with her amazing rehab exercises.

4 months apart!

The picture on the left is when I started working out again in September after the lockdown was eased and gyms had opened.

I was worried I’d go back to lookin like that when the 3rd wave hit but thankfully gyms are operating this time at 50% capacity.

Remember: It’s not about the look. It’s always about the performance and living a healthy life. Aesthetics are bound to follow!

Working out should be a fun thing to do to de-stress and become a better version of yourself.

You should look forward to your workouts but many people dread their workouts and one of the reasons for that is because they’re not fun.

Nobody likes a monotonous routine.

Including different workouts in your routine not only makes workouts fun, but also, helps you understand your body better!

It helps you gain a deeper insight into what works for you best, what you enjoy the most. So that you can do more of that and make the most of your time!

We spend a lot of time sitting.

Everyone knows this can affect your posture especially your upper back. But your lower back takes a toll too!

Constantly having your knees close to your body for long hours affects your pelvic position causing lower back pain and stiffness. Hip thrusts do the reverse of what sitting does.

Stronger glutes support your hips and help maintain an erect posture and neutral position of the pelvis and lumbar relieving you of the pain you’ve been feeling that annoys you every time you do bend/sit/squat.

Working on your glutes also has a great carry-over effect in your compound lifts like deadlift, squats, even bench press because you need to activate the kinetic chain by having your lower body in contact with the floor to brace your body and help push the weight up.

Great for olympic weightlifting moves as well like snatches and cleans!

Give this one a try and get rid of that pancake ass!😜
