AMAN ke liye IITB Aman Ke Liye IITB is a group of IITB students, faculty and staff - working for the cause of an inclusive campus. But they are marginalized.

Aman Ke Liye IITB is against any kind of discrimination on grounds of caste, gender, class, religion, region, language and occupation. One of the foremost concern of group is the dignity and rights of labourers working in the campus - on the construction sites, in the mess, on the campus streets, in our hostels, departments, infinity corridor, hospital etc. These workers toil for meagre wages to make our campus a liveable place. Their service is crucial for all of us - be it faculty, students or staff, in order to have a smooth academic and a comfortable life in this campus. invisible and a voiceless community of our campus. Aman Day Care Centre, which is a creche facility running for children of construction workers, is one of the fruits of our collective efforts. Around 70 children in the range of age from few months old to 14 years old attend the centre, where they get safe shelter when their parents are at construction sites, nutritious diet, education, and of course friends and toys to play. Children above 5 years are admitted to a formal school (Powai Municipal School) by orienting their parents about the importance of formal education. Currently through the day care centre, we have admitted nearly 30 children to Powai municipal school.

Abhyuday, IIT Bombay is glad to share the moments of Volunteer Visits held in last week.

Visited Aman Day Care Centre, inside Institute to conduct Masti Ki Paathshala session on 7th July. We taught some basic science concepts to the kids there through fun experiments by making some models from trash. We also played some games and had a dance session with the children over there

Went to nearby slums for food distribution on 8th July in collaboration with The RobinHood Army.

We perfomed a Puppet Show - to convey the message of the importance of using our natural resources with care - the focus was on water - our only life source. "Saving water - Save Earth ". Our constitution not just enshrices our Rights as citizens but also our duties as citizens. And Protecting and saving our natural resources is one of our primary duties both as a citizen as well as human beings. These puppets are made by the students of Aman Day Care Centre - using waste materials - credits to our wonderful teachers from MUMBAI MOBILE CRECHE (MMC)

Republic day is an occassion to remember with gratitude and pride the stalwarts of our constitutent assembly and its Chairman - none other than our Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, for drafting a visionary Constitution. We salute the constitutent assembly and our constituion through a dance performance - to the song "We the People of India - musical preamble" - a wonderful song from Anusuya Arts, Music: Mr. Vikas Sontate. https://youtu.be/Vk3aiMsvWLY
