Suryoday School Suryoday School is a special school for children with special needs located at Nalasopara, Mumbai The School charges a nominal fee of 500/- monthly per student.

Suryoday School started in August, 2010, by 5 professionals with funding from themselves and Corporates like Henkel, Akzo & Forbes Foundation. The School currently has 27 children and is run by a Principal & 6 Teachers. The school incurs a monthly cost of around 4,000/- per student. The gap & other expenses are funded through donations from individuals, corporates & other Support Organizations. Our Programs include Teaching Self-Dependence, gaining control over natural body, rhythms, keeping the body clean & dressing properly. Counselling Students & their parents on their Life Goals by identifying the skills, the student is good at and enjoys doing. Providing the children with Academic as well as Vocational Skills for achieving highest possible level of Independence. Conducting Workshops & Field trips to provide invaluable experience, actual exposure to different situations and Practical training in circumventing & overcoming Obstacles. Our Activities include Drawing & Painting, Computer Training, Sports, Swimming, Music & Dance, Yoga, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Candle, File & Box making, Ceramic Painting, Speech Therapy, etc...
Suryoday School brings the top-class facilities to the mentally challenged children who need the most. Facilities like Speech Therapy Room, Physiotherapy Centre, Audio Visual Room & Occupational Therapy Space make Suryoday School a very special place for special childrens' upbringing.

Suryoday Trust is the first non-profit in Nallasopara that is dedicated to the cause of providing education to children with intellectual disabilities with a view to make them functionally independent adults who are well-integrated into society. Founded in 2010 by members with decades of corporate experience, it currently works with 50 children, borrowing its working style from the founders’ rigorous corporate work ethic, discipline and network.
Vision: Children with mental disabilities grow up to become socially integrated and functionally independent adults.
Mission: To develop the overall personality of children with mental disabilities through adequate education, life skill development and parent counselling.

Job Role Description:
The duties of a sports or PE teacher include
• Teaching students how to play sports, administering national physical education tests, monitoring students' progress, meeting the physical needs of students with learning and physical disabilities, grading student performance and communicating with teachers and parents.
• Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment and behaviour of one’s students; Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students or groups of students
• The sports teacher should train them for Special Olympics and other events at the National and state level.
• Since the sports teacher would be working with children with special needs, the candidate should be sensitive and have some knowledge of how to teach physical education and sports to these children.

Key competencies:
1. Good verbal and written communication skills.
2. Ability to keep the children inspired and maintain classroom discipline
3. Passion towards the cause of people with disabilities.
4. Proactivity and ability to take initiative.

Qualification:
B.P. Ed
Experience is a plus. Freshers are also welcome.

1. Require a special educator who has rich experience (6-7 years) in working in skill development centre/providing vocational training. The role of the SpEd will be of a tutor as well as a facilitator between the students ( intellectually disabled) and the professional tutor
2. Well acquainted will what IEP is, how it works.
3. Languages REQUIRED: Marathi, Hindi and English
4. Is technically sound and is adaptable to change and help us promote change.

Skills Required:

Basic MS office knowledge
