Hello!

It has indeed been a while since you've heard from us, but better late than never. During these tough times Ujaas wishes to extend our gratitude for your constant support. We are all in this together, and we shall fight this together. We will be triumphant and will strive towards better and more inclusive Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).

Meanwhile let us remember to wash our hands and maintain safe social distancing.

Early Childhood Care and Education has a very crucial role in creating an innate interest in the child for education, learning, growth and development. Born and brought up in a family of Educationists, education has always been close to my heart. I was always pained to see how the lack of education creates a bridge which usually cannot be crossed in a single generation.

I remember an incident in this regard. I had a girl(from low income family which I dint realize then) of my age as my neighbor in our village whom I used to play with whenever I went there. After 8th class due to some reason, i directly went after my 12th class. And that was then that importance of education struck me. She had already been married two years ago, had an infant and was pregnant for second time. The gap we had grew by leaps & bounds and last year when I met her, she had 4 children and looked very old and had no hopes or ambitions from her own life. Though I have just mentioned one case I know almost all of you might be having such people around you.

Education is the single most powerful tool to empower people and give them hopes for a better, as also mentioned by Rabindranath Tagore and still stands apt.

It was with a passion to make quality Education accessible to everyone that I left my job and started teaching kids from low income families in Jehangirpuri slum in Delhi.

After a lot of research, the concept of Early Childhood Care & Education caught my attention and I realized the magnitude of impact it has on an individual. It was then that I focussed on Aanganwadis.

Aanganwadis in India have improved over the years in terms of curbing nutrition to a great extent but its pre-school function has neither gained attention nor popularity.

Thus i wish to create a model Aanganwadi which is model in terms of its infrastructure and quality so that children from low income families can feel secured to go there & complete their pre-school.

Thus I request humbly to one & all to help as per your capacity in my cause for a better & brighter India!
