A small true story:
I was doing my second year of engineering from PEC Chandigarh Dec, 1972. I had come for spending few holidays at my home village in Himachal Pradesh. I still cherish to spend few days every year in my village to get connected to nature & enjoy flora fauna of surrounding beatitudes of snow laden hills there.
After taking my lunch, I was basking in the warm sun & resting on my cot in verandah of our house. My father had built a three story house in the village in 1965 & people of nearby villages use to see the beauty of the house as it was structurly well built & nicely designed architecturally. My mother was peeling some green vegetables sitting on a floor mat adjoining to my cot. I always loved my mother & being the eldest child in the next generation of out house; I always enjoyed full freedom to do whatever wished to. (I still wonder, how an innocent boy from a small hermitage of Himachal, got admission in electronics engineering at city of Le corbusier. But destiny plays its own role & later on gave me the opportunity to complete my post graduation too from university of Roorkee).
My mother just woke me up from noon siesta & asked me see palm of one Ram Prasad living in our neighbour. I had a knack of studying astrology, palmistry & numerology etc as my strong hobby with an urge to keep exploring the hidden treasures of life with strong urge to look beyond the future. I sat on my well knit cot & asked Ram Prasad to tell me the problem. In stead, my mother interjected to draw my quick attention & said - he had a late marriage about ten years back but has no child till date. Please see his palm & tell, if he has any children in his destiny? The query was straight, tough & perplexing for me. I asked Ram Prasad to show me his right hand. Observing the roughness of his hand, I glanced through the lines of the palm carefully. I told Ram Prasad that he will have three sons in future. But he never believed my utterings coz what I had told was not only unbelievable but sounded little funny to him.
The matter got forgotten in labyrinths of time & I never asked my mother about later happenings in life of Ram Prasad. In Jan, 1979; I got married & took my better half to Dehradun, where I was posted in erstwhile UPSEB ( now divided that huge electric company into three with Generation, transmission & distribution as three independent companies).
In 1987, I switched my career to one Gas distribution company & posted in Mumbai from 1992 to 1995. I was staying as a bachelor in Mumbai as my family was still living in Jhansi (at my earlier place of posting to complete children education there). In 1993, we again visited our village to attend some function at home. I was relaxing on my chair, when Ram Prasad came to see me. He was quite happy & looked extremely blessed. I inquired about his whereabouts. He overjoyly shared his hidden feelings & thanked me for the correct but unbelievable predictions, I had made casually in 1972. I was unable to guess it as I had almost forgotten the incident. He said- God blessed him & his wife with three sons as on date. I looked at him with utter awe & could not believe my own uttering made more than twenty years ago. He was thanking me a lot & kissed my hands as mark of respect with a heart full of love & gratitude.
I simply told him that it was the most casual prediction, I ever made in my life; which came surprisingly true. We both could not believe that how this could come so true. But strange are the ways of life & incessant showering of God's love on us. Believing in self & having a heart full of love n empathy for others is perhaps the best ways to understand the nature. Blessed are they, who have intense faith in Almighty & His divine power. May all be happy & live in harmony on this wonderful planet Earth.
