Grateful for an incredible response at the Free Medical Health Camp ! 🙏🏼

From 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, we were overwhelmed with the turnout and enthusiasm.

Huge thanks to the Rio Malayalee Association for organizing this well-coordinated and much-needed initiative. The camp also featured expert consultations in orthopedics, pediatrics, physiotherapy, and dental care.

It was a fulfilling day of service and community connection. 🌟

What is a sebaceous cyst?

It is a painless lump under skin caused by blocked oil glands. It commonly occurs on face, neck and back.

❌Squeezing it can rupture the cyst wall inside skin leading to foreign body reaction and secondary infection.

In such cases, cyst will turn red, swollen and painful. If not removed, infection can spread deeper and lead to permanent scarring.

✅ Surgical removal under local anesthesia is the best treatment!

💡 If your cyst is red, painful, or growing — don’t delay.
We’re here to help you heal faster and safer.

Be careful of what you apply around your skin, especially around eyes. Wrong ingredient, wrong strength, wrong method of application can do more harm than good !

♦️What is Melasma?

Melasma is a common skin condition that causes dark patches on face, most commonly on the cheeks, forehead, nose, and upper lip. It can also appear on other parts of the body that are exposed to sun.

♦️What Causes Melasma?

Melasma happens when your skin makes too much melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color.
Some common triggers include:
🔸Sun exposure
🔸Hormones – It often appears during pregnancy, when taking birth control pills, or hormone therapy.
🔸Genetics

♦️Who Gets Melasma?

Melasma is more common in:
🔸Women, especially during pregnancy
🔸People with darker skin tones
🔸People who live in sunny climates

♦️Is Melasma Harmful?
No, and it doesn't turn into skin cancer. But it can affect how you feel about your appearance, which is why many people want to treat it.

♦️How is Melasma Treated?
Melasma can be stubborn, but there are treatments that can help lighten the dark patches:

1. Sun protection – The most important step. Always wear sunscreen with at least SPF 30, even on cloudy days. Wear a hat and seek shade when possible.

2. Skin-lightening creams

3. Procedures - like chemical peels, injections into melasma patches

4. Avoiding triggers – If you’re using hormone treatments, your doctor may suggest changes.

♦️Does Melasma Go Away?

In very few people, melasma fades on its own. In others, it may take time and treatment for long duration. Even after it fades, it may recurr especially with sun exposure.

♦️Final Tips
🔸Always protect your skin from the sun.
🔸Be patient—melasma treatment takes time.
🔸Talk to a dermatologist if you’re unsure what’s causing it or how to treat it safely.
