At the heart of our discussions during "Beyond Accessibility: The Power of Universal Design" was an inspiring collaboration featuring insightful contributions from experts like Dr. Kavita Murugkar, users Ms. Zaruhi Batoyan and Ms. Sophia Moermond, and distinguished policymakers, including the Hon'ble Minister for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Shri Subhash Phaldessai. The event, organising of the Purple Fest 2025, was seamlessly orchestrated by Mr. Guruprasad Pawaskar, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities.

Dr. Kavita Murugkar’s talk was truly illuminating, sparking vibrant conversations during our panel discussion. Moderated by Ar. Anup Gadgil, we were fortunate to engage with a remarkable panel, including Ar. Elizabeth Kurian, Ar. Sumedh Naik (IPC), Ar. Marwin Gomes (Chief Architect PWD), and Ms. Zaruhi Batoyan, all of whom brought rich perspectives to the table.

The investiture ceremony of the Managing Committee of the "Indian Institute of Interior Designers" (IIID) Goa Centre was held on 26th September 2025 at the Taj Vivanta, Panaji. The Committee, led by

Ashwinikumar Prabhu, Mr. Raja Melvani, Mr. Pratap Naik, Ar Sacheen Pai Raikar, Ar. Sidharth Naik were inducted for two years. The team's vision is to uphold high professional standards and ethics in interior design while enhancing the perception of our profession through ongoing education, networking, and teamwork. IIID Goa Centre organized its 2nd Master Series Lecture for the term 2023-25 at the Taj Vivanta on 21st August 24. Ar. Hiren Patel of HPA Designs engaged the gathering with a heart-to-heart talk on the various facets of architectural practice and shared some of the learnings he has imbibed in his long and illustrious career.
Ar. Rajiv Dsilva paid a fitting tribute to our departed colleague Ar. Jimmy Devasia by taking us through a fascinating presentation depicting myriad sketches and illustrations of Ar. Jimmy bringing out the likely thought process evolving out of his love for the Local Culture, Traditions and People.
A sincere thanks to Ar. Sunil Sardesai for going out of his way in coordinating and making this session possible.
IIID Goa Centre also celebrated its 21st Charter Day by the felicitation of Past IIID Goa Chairpersons and the ceremonial cutting of the cake.
Ar. Sacheen Pai Raikar shared his thoughts on the eventful journey of IIID GOA since its inception and urged all members to continue working together in growing IIID Goa.
M/s Mitsubishi Electric were the event partners and were represented by their lead sales and marketing team. A Big THANK YOU to the amazing audience of more than 100 attendees comprising of Architects, Interior Designers and Trade members for creating this memorable event.

Design melange 3.0
It was an amazing evening with our 3 speakers, Ar Yogesh, Ar Pallavi and Er Rajesh enthralling the audience with their presentations followed by the fellowship and networking dinner.

The Prizes for Best Design Thesis awards held in association with the Goa College of Architecture were also handed over.

IIID GOA looks forward to your continued support and encouragement in curating many more events in the near future.

The Best Space making Design Award for the thesis students of Goa College of Architecture was handed to the winners at the hands of the chief guest. The fifth edition of the awards instituted by IIID Goa was won by Casta Bernadette Pereira while Tosha Sadanand Phaste and Fabiola A. Pereira were the first and second runner up respectively. The awards were handed over at the hands of the chief guest and Keynote Speaker Ms. Kanak Nanda

The prizes were distributed at the Installation Ceremony of the Managing committee of Indian Institute of Interior Designers- Goa centre (IIID Goa) for the term 2023-25 was held on 6th October 2023 at Raythatha Hall, Panjim Gymkhana.
