Goa Calangute Beach, This Beach is 12 KM long and the most famous Beach, This Beach was the first beach in Goa, where the Hippies (Flower Children) came in the early 1970's, settled down over here and a lot of them never went back to their countries.. such was the beauty of this beach that it left a mesmerising effect on the Hippies.. Note: Scott McKenzie's rendition of John Phillips' song, "San Francisco", became a hit in the United States and Europe. The lyrics, "If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair", inspired thousands of young people from all over the world to travel to San Francisco, sometimes wearing flowers in their hair and distributing flowers to passersby, earning the Hippies the name, "Flower Children".
