While the role of the father has been watered down, and practically pushed aside in today’s society we cannot undermine the importance of the paternal role in the development of family dynamics.

To the fathers who wake up every morning and put in the time, the effort, the love and the energy to provide and support their family today we honor you. You are seen, you are loved, you are appreciated, and despite what society may be projecting your role is very necessary.

Before the night ends I want to send love to all of the different types of moms out there. Being a mother isn’t just about creating a life and this is not to diminish the journey of creating and brining a life on to earth. However, I truly believe you become a mother the moment you decide to nurture, love and sacrifice for another being other than yourself. It’s the art of pouring love, teaching and guiding another being. Though I have never crossed the portal of motherhood myself, I have been blessed to have been mothered by amazing strong women during different phases of my life, who fed me, nurtured me, protected me and continue to guide me. Starting with the mother I chose as a vessel for my entering into this world.

I love you mom.

To all of the moms who adopted me along the way, thank you I love you.

To all of the children, plants and fur babies I have adopted along the way, and poured my love and energy into, know that I will always make it my mission to fiercely love and protect you.
