Evidence from various large scale studies indicate that, overall, mammography screening has a very small effect in reducing death rate.

How small? by just 0.05%.

And in contrast, 15 to 25% of women whose cancers were detected by mammograms are over-diagnosed and subjected to unnecessary treatment due to mammograms.
