In India, someone needs blood every two seconds, yet less than 1% of the population donates each year.
On the occasion of International Women's Day 2026, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Mother & Child Hospital in Raipur, hosted a blood donation camp in collaboration with Chhattisgarh & Odisha Sub Area (COSA) of the Indian Army, to promote health awareness and honour the contribution of women in nation-building.
The programme was led by Mrs. Kuki Bawa of the Family Welfare Organization, UDRA and graced by Chief Guest Lieutenant General Dr. Ashok Jindal, Retired Director of AIIMS Raipur.
With India facing a shortage of over one million units of blood every year, a single unit can save up to three lives. Every contribution brings a patient in surgery, a mother in critical care and a child battling illness one step closer to recovery.
