Performance in the NOW by AAGAAZ | An intensive workshop on Performance Making | For 14-18 year olds | Starting on 3 October| Fees: 3000 INR for each module

Hello! We are back with a new workshop in October - this time on the nitty-gritties of crafting a performance. We have 8 seats for this workshop, so do spread the word!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This is an intensive workshop for young minds who are curious to start their journey in performance making. Over the course of three modules, we will explore the processes of crafting a performance. What is a performance? Where does it originate from, and who is it intended for? By asking such questions and more, we will look at the tools of devising theatre, and attempt to understand what it means to create in times such as these.

WHEN?
Dates : 3, 4, 10, 11, 17th October for Module 1, and
31, 1 October and 7, 8, 12 November for Module 2
28, 29 November, 5, 6, 12 December for Module 3

Each module can be attended standalone as well!

Time : 5:30-7:30 PM on the dates listed above (Saturday & Sunday)

HOW?
Aagaaz’s drama practice creates possibilities of thinking, feeling and taking action. Our methodology is hinged on inquiry through skill based exploration of the art form. This goes hand-in-hand with an intensive engagement which brings forth questions about the self and the world.

You can sign up here to receive a call-back and register for Module 1 : https://forms.gle/corJv1pcD4KEoRoUA

These are children from tribal, poor families who are first generation school goers. We do not charge them any fees. We provide academic support, health check up and medication. We give them nutritious meals (one time). We make sure they are clean and have hygienic practices. People from different cities come and conduct Art, music, storytelling and other creative workshops. We can now receive online donations, this is for all the supporters and friends who could not donate because we did not so far have an option to donate online.

Under our "Building Ayaad rebuilding lives" initiative we are seeking support in building the common infrastructure and facilities at Ayaad. These include the learning centre, gaushala, training center, meditation hall, amphitheatre, eco-pool, road and shops.

When the COVID 19 lockdown was imposed we actively sought donations for the worst affected underprivileged families who were left out of the public distribution system and reached out to friends to provide monthly ration to these families. We reached more than 400 such families. That was an immediate relief distribution work and we understand it's not sustainable and good for the dignity of these labour to continue to distribute ration. All the construction work at Ayaad is done with people's contribution. If we are able to generate even 5 days of labour per month for one person, it gives them money to procure ration for a month. With the quantum of construction work we can continue to provide livelihoods to many extremely poor and under privileged tribal families for more than a year.

We seek your continued support To Ayaad for this initiative where we are not only building the Ayaad Colony as a community resource centre which generates more livelihood opportunities for the youth of the area as shop owners, caretakers, teachers, health and wellness staff, housekeeping staff, cooks and more but immediately continue to support the daily wage labourers to earn with dignity.

Please donate generously, we only use local material and local labour in our construction work, which will build the local economy.

Look forward to your support.
Happiness Hereafter!

Ayaad Foundation aspires to build a community for elderly and children who are in need of care and protection. For this charitable cause, the Foundation has taken land near Kumbhalgarh, Rajasthan. All the construction work is being done using donations received from friends and well wishers.

During the lock down Ayaad foundation distributed soap and 416 ration kits. This was possible because of generous donations from our supporters. Thank you! Through these kits our donors touched more than 2500 people's lives. The recipients of the ration support are mostly children, women headed households and elderly.
This initiative was also supported by Azim Premji Foundation, local administration and Sarpanch of the 13 panchayats where we reached out to the poor families which were affected by the lock down. Sharing some pictures here.

The two segments that Ayaad Foundation works for are elderly and children.During this initiative, Ayaad foundation learnt that-

1. There are many children who migrate for work after the age of fourteen years ( till the age of 14 children have free and compulsory education)

2. there are many girls who drop out of school and do not continue education after the age of 14.

3. People send their children to work because there is a lack of opportunity of earning in the local area. A child earns around 7000-10000 in the city.

4. There are pockets in the villages where the entire young generation has migrated for work and the elderly are left behind to fend for themselves.

Ayaad foundation sees a real need of a long term engagement with the local rural children, youth and elderly in the villages around our residential colony. We will keep you posted about our plans, we really want your ideas and support to take this work forward.

Happiness Hereafter!

Ayaad Foundation is humbled and honored to act as a bridge between benevolent donors and the people in dire need. In the last week of April, we started this campaign to provide food supplies to the people who are facing hunger and malnutrition as an impact of the lockdown. Most of these underprivileged families live in interior hamlets of the villages in Garbhor Tehsil of Rajsamand District in Rajasthan. They subsist on daily wages and with the lockdown their only source of income was also taken away.
The local administration and benevolent donors of the area did provide for them by providing some aid in the first phase of the lockdown, but when we interacted with them in the last week of April, we found out that at the moment they do not have sufficient food to carry on for the next phase of the lock down, extended beyond 3rd May, 2020.

When we initially sent out the appeal for 65 families around thirty donors gave donations to Ayaad Foundation. We are extremely grateful to all the friends and supporters of Ayaad who sent out the appeal to their friends through WhatsApp and Facebook. We distributed ration to over a hundred families with the money collected. We have been approached by people from adjoining 10 villages where there are around 40 such families in each Panchayat who are in abject poverty and have no support. We are working with the local administration, not to duplicate any efforts, because the resources need to be used effectively to reach out to the people really in need.

Some of you may be getting the appeal to donate from Ayaad Foundation for the second time. We are sincerely grateful to all the people who have already supported this effort by Ayaad. We request all of you to please forward this appeal to as many contacts as possible because we need to ACT FAST, each day counts.

All donations to Ayaad Foundation are income tax exempt under section 80G of the income tax act. For every donation of INR 5000 we plant a tree in the name of the donor.

At Ayaad Foundation, we believe in the power of collective action. At this time of distress, the faith has been reaffirmed when so many people came forward to extend their support to the poor and marginalized families near Ayaad's first residential colony in Kumbhalgarh area of Rajsamand District, Rajasthan.
When the lock down was imposed for the first time in March end, a lot of benevolent donors of the area provided ration for a month to the poor families whose survival is solely based on daily wage labour work. At Ayaad, we decided that we must not duplicate efforts and we raised resources to procure soaps and give to these families. With support from Mrs. Mala Bharti, Khyati Chouhan and Heena Soni, we distributed soaps to the poorest of scheduled caste and scheduled tribes families in the nearby villages. Between 24-25 April, 2020 our team reached these families, living really far off from the main roads in interior areas and became aware of the abject conditions these families were in, and that they didn't have food to sustain them for the next month.
Ambika Bhatt, Arvind Girdhar and Deepti Raipuria responded immediately to start raising funds from their family and friends, so that Ayaad could provide ration to these families. We have raised funds to start distributing rations to these identified families. As we are going to these villages, we are getting to know of more such families and other needs like face masks, medicines, sanitary tissues etc. We will keep you posted on the progress. But right now, from Ayaad we take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Ruchika Verma, Sonal Priyanka, Geetank, Hardik Mehta, Sanket, Shailendra, Yash Mohan Prasad, Monisha, Gitanjali Gaind, Genext Green Power, Divya Dubey, Tripti and Manju Soni for their immediate response to our appeal for donation.
As a small gesture we are planting a tree in the name of each donor who has contributed INR 5000 and more.
Heartfelt gratitude!
Happiness Hereafter
