Since vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, people with higher amount of body fat will sequester vitamin D in fat cells, leading to lower amounts circulating in the blood. Due to this, people with obesity typically need higher amounts of vitamin D to maintain adequate levels or to correct a deficiency.
And more body fat causes more insulin resistance and so insulin resistance inhibit to the absorption of vitamin D in your body, resulting low levels of vitamin D in your body.
