Ever wondered, how Woolah tastes right in the middle of the lush green tea gardens of Assam?
Just how tea is supposed to taste like!✨🌸

Meet Lakhi Gogoi, a veteran organic tea farmer and one of the most valued small tea growers under the Woolah Organic Mission.

With decades spent in the tea fields, Lakhi da carries stories, wisdom, and knowledge that only time and soil can teach.

We were lucky to have his company on one fine afternoon on the way to his beautifully maintained tea garden, and listen to him talk about how it all started. Here’s an excerpt…

Believing in a better world begins with believing in women, their work, their strength, and their ability to shape their own futures.

Because blooming starts with believing.

And every woman who has built Woolah began her journey towards financial independence and empowerment with a simple belief, that she can!

Happy Women’s Day!!🌸🫶🏼

Organic farming begins with soil health.

Instead of feeding the plant, the focus is on feeding the soil, building living microbes that improve structure, boost nutrient absorption, and strengthen natural immunity.

Cow dung (gobar) plays an important role here.
When naturally processed, it becomes rich in beneficial microbes that enhance soil vitality and act as natural pest control.

No shortcuts.
Just biology doing what it’s meant to do.

Only to realise the one she wanted to tell was her own.

Back in the Northeast, not as a stop, but as a decision.

This part of the experience took us closer to the source. The team spent a day moving through the gardens, watching how things unfold when you slow down enough to notice them.

We started by walking through the plots, stopping where tea flowers were in bloom and where leaves were being plucked. Time was spent understanding what happens after the pluck, how the leaf is handled, why that moment matters, and how small decisions there shape what comes later. Conversations with our organic tea farmers stayed with us, especially around care, timing, and restraint.

As the day went on, the garden opened up in quieter ways. Women from the tea tribe community moving through familiar routines. A shy child watching us from a distance. Cow dung spread out to dry under the sun. Ducks resting and roaming freely between the rows.

We noticed the shade trees too, the ones that protect the plants, their bark releasing a sticky, resin-like flow. And by evening, winter light settling over gardens where new buds were already coming in.

Nothing here was arranged for us.
Just observations from a day spent in and around the tea gardens, noticing the people, processes, and small details that exist around the leaf, long before it becomes tea.

Mur ghor kot?
Not the place left behind, the place chosen.

Meet Sukanya, a dentist and a writer who knows growth doesn’t always mean distance. Some bloom away. Some bloom at home. Both are valid.

A bhet phool thrives where it belongs.
So do people.

This is Sukanya, blooming exactly where she chose to.
