Police Hospital Srinagar has come into existence in the year 1983-84 after the up-gradation of previous MI Room vide Government Order No.
(1)

Home-281(Police) of 1983 dated 28.06.1983, under the 7th Finance Commission allocation. The hospital has further been up-graded in the year 1998, when certain posts of doctors and Para Medical Staff were created for Police Department vide Government Order No. Home -178(P) of 1998 dated 18.05.1998 and these posts were subsequently re-designated and distributed amongst Police Hospitals and other MI Rooms vide PHQ Order No. 2577 of 1998 dated 05.08.1998. Police Hospital Srinagar provides advanced innovative methods for diagnosing & treating patients with various ailments. It has taken up the challenge to provide complete range of medical & surgical services to the patients to save precious lives. Police Hospital Srinagar has well experienced specialist doctors working in various departments. We are performing surgeries which include Laparoscopic, ENT (Major/Minor), Arthroscopic, Ophthalmology, Gynae and General Surgeries. Police Hospital Srinagar caters around 5000 patients per month. The Specialty are Medicine, Surgical, Dental, Ortho, ENT, Optho, Gynae, Paediatrics etc. The hospital provides 24x7 casualty/emergency services. Police Hospital Srinagar has two Indoor wards of 20 beds. In-patient services include medical, surgical, Orthopedic and rehabilitation services. Police Hospital Srinagar provides out-patient services including emergency services, day procedures, diagnostic and assessment services, and therapy services.

October 31th, 2025: Police Hospital Srinagar organized a grand farewell to honor and falicitate few of the employees who recently retired from active services after attaining the age of superannuation. Among these were Dr. Baljeet kour, Consultant Anaesthesia; Mr. Mohammad Shafi, Follower. Senior faculty members from Police Hospital Srinagar and some paramedics also presented themselves on the dias to express their heartfelt gratitute and appreciation to the retired colleagues. At the outset, retirees were felicitated and presented with the token of appreciation on behalf of all the doctors, para medics, administrative and other supporting staff of Police Hospital Srinagar. 🎉🎊👏💐🌹🎁

Police Hospital Srinagar organized a grand farewell ceremony to honor and felicitate Dr. Abdul Hamid Sherwani, Senior Consultant Anesthesia, who recently retired from active service after attaining superannuation age.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Feroze Ahmad. This was followed by the felicitation of Dr. Sherwani, who received bouquets from various senior doctors of Police Hospital Srinagar.

A detailed video showcasing Dr. Sherwani's personal and professional life was played, highlighting his remarkable achievements. Subsequently, Dr. Mutahara, Dr. Baljeet, and Dr. Suhail expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for their retiring colleague.

Employees of Police Hospital Srinagar also shared their well-wishes and appreciation for Dr. Sherwani's dedication and service.

Dr. Khalid Parvaiz delivered the closing remarks and presented Dr. Sherwani with a memento and a gift. The ceremony concluded with all doctors, paramedics, administrative staff, and other supporting staff of Police Hospital Srinagar bidding farewell to Dr. Sherwani.

December 26th 2024: Police Hospital Srinagar organized a CME on Osteoporosis, wherein Dr. Feroze Ahmad, Consultant Physician PHS gave lecture on “overview of Osteoporosis and its medical management”, providing basic information about the disease, its management and Control.
Followed by Dr Suhail Afzal Consultant Orthopedics PHS gave an lucid lecture on “Osteoporosis Vertebal Fractures".
Lectures were followed by questions and answers session clearing the doubts of the audience.
In the end MS PHS gave his closing remarks.

NOVEMBER 12TH, 2024: On the eve of 'World Diabetes Day-2024;, Police Hospital Srinagar organized a CME, compered by Dr Sheikh Abrar Aalam (Medical Officer) PHS, wherein Dr. Feroze Ahmad, Consultant Physician PHS gave lecture on overview of Diabetes, providing basic information about the disease, its management and Control.
Prof Riaz Misger Additional Professor department Endocrinology SKIMS Soura gave a lecture on importance of world Diabetes Day and enlightened the audience about the need of taking precautions in order to save community at large from diabetes.
Dr Shaveta Opthalmologist PHS described Diabetic retinopathy and it's complications.
Dr Suhail Afzal Consultant Orthopaedics PHS gave information about musculoskeletal problems in diabetes.
Prof.Saheel Maajid HOD Ortho SKIMS MC (Special guest) addressed the CME and complimented organisers.
The event was attended by various officers/ officials from adjacent units of Police Hospital Srinagar in house doctors and paramedics besides doctors of various battalions.
The lecture was followed by a Q&A session clearing the doubts of the audience.
Vote of thanks was given by Dr Feroze at the end.

The CME was attended by various officers/ officials of Police Hospital Srinagar, doctors and paramedics.
The lecture was followed by a Q&A session clearing the doubts of the audience.
The Dr. Khalid Parvez MS PHS expressed his gratitude to the attending audience and hoped to conduct such events in near future too.

April 10th, 2023: A mock drill for preparedness and remaining ready to deal with COVID was conducted at Police Hospital Srinagar. The drill was attended by doctors as well as staff from casualty, OT, Ward and other Departments of the hospital which were briefed about the scenario by Dr. Feroze Consultant Physician PHS and Dr. Khalid Parvez, Medical Superintendent PHS.
