1. Using Biomedical Terminologies

Our team has solid experience in the use of biomedical terminologies such as SNOMED, ICD-9 and in using the UMLS. We have expertise in helping clients map data elements coded using different terminologies, build new terminologies or integrate a terminology with the UMLS.



2. Data Mining

Applied Informatics Inc. has in-house strength in machine learning and data-mining. Our capabilities include analyzing large datasets (such as the national healthcare service utilization data) to detect patterns using unsupervised and supervised learning methods.



3. Natural Language Processing

We have expertise in leveraging both open source tools and our own proprietary methods to parse medical text and derive semantic concepts and meaning. Our NLP tools are used to analyze clinical trial eligibility criteria within the TrialX.com platform.



4. Application development on EHR/PHR platforms

Applied Informatics Inc. is one of the few companies to have built an application (TrialX) on the leading PHR platforms of Microsoft HealthVault, Google Health and IndivoHealth. These applications have received favorable reviews such as the mention in the NY Times and other publications
