Sciatica isn’t just “back pain.” It’s a nerve pain that travels down the leg, and these are the signs you shouldn’t ignore:

✅ Pain that starts in the lower back or buttock and shoots down one leg

You can have a serious spine problem and feel completely normal for months.

And that’s exactly why it becomes dangerous.

As a spine surgeon, I see patients walk into my OPD casually…

No major back pain.
No shooting pain down the leg.
Just “mild stiffness.”
Only to discover disc herniations, nerve compressions, or early spinal degeneration on scans.

Here’s what most people don’t realise:

Spine problems don’t shout at the beginning.
They whisper.

Issues like disc bulges, stenosis, and nerve compression silently worsen until they reach a point where symptoms suddenly appear:

⚠️ Leg pain while walking (neurogenic claudication)
⚠️ Numbness or tingling in legs or feet
⚠️ Lower back stiffness
