“The next time you start looking in the mirror at all the things you want to change, I hope you remember that when you came into this world, there were people who looked at you and thought you were the most perfectly formed human they had ever seen. There still are
people who look at you and thank the universe each time for giving them such a precious gift. I hope you remember that where you see things you dislike, they see all that is good and beautiful wrapped up in laughter and the things that make you uniquely you.”

4 years ago consuming indulgent foods felt impossible.

2 years ago I couldn’t imagine eating things like pizza, without reason. Indulgence was reserved for extremely special occasions and almost always had to be compensated for the next day with copious amounts of exercise.

Now, I eat what I want - when I want. I don’t think about macros, calories, and consequences. I don’t overthink food or exercise. They occupy very little mental real estate. Because I recognise that I have a life to live beyond the constraints of my plate and the four walls of the gym.

And it’s not been an overnight process. It’s not been a magical transformation story. Recovery from a disordered eating mindset takes years. But over time you recognise that food has no inherent goodness or badness. You recognise that sometimes memories trump nutrition. You realise that straying from the path every now and then does not take away from a largely balanced lifestyle.

Of course when you reintroduce certain foods there’s an inherent fear of bingeing. That’s normal. The pendulum does swing. But it also balances to a mid ground. Where you nourish your health because it serves you, but also enjoy yourself because you want to.

If you’re struggling, I hope you find that too. ♥️

We’re constantly bombarded with daily advertisements for quick fixes and unrealistic success stories plastered on magazines, websites, and social media.

From 7-day detoxes, diet pills, shakes, and surgeries, the message runs deep – beauty and health are dependent on body shape and size.

In reality, size is not a direct reflection of health (or the ability, qualifications, or credibility REQUIRED to provide health advice).

[ I think it’s great when individuals encourage each other to get healthier. However, we’re all so unique - our care should be too. What worked for our “thin” friend - May not work for us. ]

“I’ll resume eating well on Monday…after the weekend…when I’m back from vacation…January 1st…”

Look, I think it’s COMMENDABLE to want to do your best. Taking time to regroup and start over when life gets easier is completely normal. It’s even comforting.

But truthfully, there’s never going to be a magical moment where life gets easier. Schedules will keep changing. Personal and work commitments will continue to stack up. It will always be someone’s birthday.

So, instead of pressing pause – just adjust the dial. A 5-minute action is better than none. And before you know it you’re 1% better.

The point is to keep going, sometimes awkwardly and sometimes incompetently.

Perfection never happens in real life.

We’re always going to be doing the best we can with what we have.
And that’s okay.

We can still make progress toward our goals and still improve our health and our fitness—whatever’s going on in our lives.

Happy ♥️

Turned 30 this weekend (I know the pink float and childish grin say otherwise.) Super grateful for having spent it with some of my favourites doing what I love most - lots and lots of pool time and .

Thank you for all the support, for being here, and allowing me to grow, share, educate and be creative as a nutritionist. I’m super excited about what this new decade has to bring. ♥️

You’re probably wondering (or have at some point) if you can….

• Be free from diet obsession.
• Cultivate a positive relationship with your body.
• Maintain a balanced weight.
• Find a place where health and enjoyment can coexist.

The truth is that no matter what you weigh, dieting has the potential to ruin your ability to listen to your body.

If you feel perfectly fine with the way you eat, exercise, and relate to your weight, that’s amazing! Genuinely.

However, if you’re sick of being stuck in an abusive relationship with diets, and want a different one with food, our UnDiet program is just for you!

When you’re older you’re probably not going to enjoy reflecting on all the moments you spent hating your body or punishing it for a little bit of indulgence.

Improving your eating habits, moving adequately and taking care of your well-being are all important. But when they occupy more mental real estate than they should, it becomes a problem!

Changing your mindset isn’t easy. But it’s possible! ♥️
