Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), also called dyspraxia, is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects a child’s ability to plan and carry out coordinated movements, even when intellectual ability is within the typical range.
Children with DCD may have difficulty with everyday tasks such as handwriting, dressing, or sports, which can affect daily functioning and confidence. Early recognition and appropriate support, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, and educational accommodations, can help improve motor skills and independence.
